Help!!!! Not sure what’s going on with this guy. Seems like I might need to put some more cactus soil in its pot, because it’s kind of sticking out of it, meaning I can easily pull it out of the dirt. The bottom layer of leaves/stems are dried out as well (tried to get pictures). It also seems to be growing towards to one side. There’s also a little white fuzzy growth on it. Not sure if this is because the plant is a cobweb hens and chicks…I’m not really sure what this plant is, some people have told me it’s a type of house leek. Also for more information, I live in Chicago, and this guy sits in the only north facing window that I have. It gets a little cold near the window. These days it’s cloudy most days, and around the 30s-40s outside, but I have my heater turned to 70. I repotted it from its plastic pot two or three months ago.

White fuzzy stuff is usually mealybugs — I’d recommend looking that up and seeing if it’s what you have. The plant is some type of houseleek/hens and chicks (different names for the same plant), the genus is sempervivum. This one isn’t a cobweb houseleek though, that looks different. Do you have any other windows? North-facing windows get very little direct light (in the northern hemisphere anyway), so any other window (west, east, or south) would probably be better.

I found a fix for mealy bugs to be using 70% alcohol so I will be trying that. Unfortunately I live in a studio and only have one big window that faces north, the rest of my plants are doing alright but this one is really the one that’s struggling the most

You can also lift up the bottom layer of leaves and pluck off the dried shriveled ones.

the leaning is from not enough light, you can supplement with a grow light or lamp!
