I got a gorgeous ZZ Raven yesterday as a gift but the person didn’t know the last time it was watered. So this morning, I poked my handy dandy chopstick in it but was shocked because I hit something. I pulled it out, brushed aside some soil and found what I thought was a little stone. But I tapped it and said uh oh. I quickly googled and learned ZZs have rhizomes! I never had a rhizome plant and I didn’t buy this for myself so I hadn’t done my usual mountains of research. I’m so mad at myself! The rhizome has one small hole poked in it. Online search gives mixed answers and suggests cutting the stalk and letting the rhizome regrow in water. I don’t want to prematurely cut it. It’s so gorgeous. Do you think the plant will live? Is there something I should do? (I didn’t have time to grab a picture of the poked rhizome).

How often do you water succulents under grow lights

Hello everyone! Yesterday, my boyfriend got me a cactus and it is my first official plant (other than plastic ones 😂) The pot he is in has no drainage holes, so I bought another pot that does, as well as some soil for him. How do I go about repotting him? I am extremely clueless.

Hey there friends! I haven’t touched this little guy and left everything how I’ve gotten it-as is. I got this succulent potting mix and succulent liquid feeder (miracle grow for succulents) and was wondering how to go about repotting this jem. Not going to lie to you all here I’m just terrified I’ll do something wrong but I know it’s all part of learning! 😖 one branch looks broken off or dead whilst the rest looks like it’s doing ok..any help would be greatly appreciated! Also what should I name it? I like to name my plants lol

All of the spiney bits happened In the last week. It's a good thing, right? It's my first fishbone and they're so weird.

I posted about a month back about my tephrocactus growing possibly a flower, a new segment, or an alien 👽 It turns out she was growing a new segment! It’s getting really big, and is popping out cute little spikes 🤩 This is my first (and only) cactus and I’ve got a big soft spot for her. I brought her back with me on a plane in my purse 🤣 (First photo is around a month ago and second photo is from today)

I just moved from NorCal to Michigan. I couldn't leave my beloved cactuses behind and am trying to keep them alive in a much colder climate. This one seemed to be doing well in my sunroom that keep as warm as I can. It gets to about 40° over night and then ranges between 65-75° during the day. I have noticed the tips have turned white. Tried reaching onoien and everything says it's a webby insect infestation, but it's not. There is not. There is no we like substance. It is literally the plant that is white. Is this new growth? What can I do to resolve it? I did figure out it needed more water based on the little white rootlike growths at the tips.

Got this Echeveria at Walmart a couple weeks ago and he’s pretty leggy. What can I do to help other than more sunlight? I have noticed new leaves growing steadily so I’m hopeful.

What would y’all recommend for this guy as far as root growth? Bought him online and he’s a super healthy/beautiful succulent but it’s like they broke all the roots off. Should I remove a bunch of the bottom leaves and try to make a “stem” to propagate or set it on some soil and try to prop roots that way? The problem is that the root system isn’t level with the bottom of the leaves so it’s hard to get the soil mounded up to reach the roots. Thank you!!

Hey guys I need help with my cactus. It’s from Mexico and I got it from a friend. I recently asked for help identifying it and I didn’t get much help. I also need help with these brown spots that are popping up on the tips. For some reason the cactus is leaning over the pot instead of sticking straight up. What should I do??

Hello everyone! I just wanted to share my Ghost Plant propagations because everyone needs this kind of cuteness in their life. These are about 2 months old!

Hey friends! I have a question about my little Ladyfinger cactus: I got some new soil/fertilizer for it and I didn’t know if it was correct. It had good reviews. “Back to the Roots Organic succulents and cacti mix”.

New arrivals ballyi and robusta. What do y’all use in Planta for robusta, I am unable to find it in the list of plants.
