You may or may not remember me posting about my fish bone cactus having one wrinkly stem and the others being fine. I tried watering more and nothing happened. I’ve finally been able to come to a conclusion. That one stem has always tilted weird, so I looked into the dirt. Far down on the stem there was a cut about halfway through the stem. I assumed it must have happened during repotting. This must have been making it die slowly but it tried to repair itself (hence why new stems were still growing off it) it’s gotten really bad now I think there’s no saving that one stem. I’ll just leave it, no use in pruning now but kind of upsetting. At least the plant should remain healthy. Sorry for the lengthy post, got nothing better to do than talk about my plants! 🌱 The one closest to the camera and almost lying flat (and the ones attached) is the one dying.
New plants! 😍 I had a fun birthday and asked for money to buy more succulents on Etsy. I then added my money and got quite a few all together. Checked some off the wishlist and wanted to share! I can’t wait to watch them color up more! I’ll ID them in the comments. 😊 Also, these won’t all be potted up together permanently, these were just the quickest temporary homes while they acclimated. Shout out to the sellers for excellent prices, customer service, and shipping! I will tag Etsy sellers in the comments.
Growing monilaria seeds and planted them yesterday. It’s it okay that I’m growing these in summer? I keep them in my room with a cloche and bottom water and plan to everyday. And also how long should I leave my grow light on for and what light setting? Help!
Hey there! Wanted to share my hens n chicks! Looks like it’s getting ready to flower!
This is my second cuddly cactus that has done this. I’m assuming I’m overwatering? Or it’s staying wet in the pot for too long (even though it is completely dried out right now). My question is what exactly is happening here? How can I save, chop and prop? What sort of soil mixture do I use? I repotted this guy about a month and a half ago with cactus soil, perlite and orchid bark. I’ve never had good luck with cactus’s😫
The roots have started to grow up what do I do?
Found baby gnats and adult gnats around my succulents today. I’ve had it with these gnats. They have infested ALLL of my plants. I use neem oil, soapy water, plant friendly pest control. And covering the soil with sand! I now have open containers of Tea tree oil and their caps filled. I put 1 drop into each pot. Am I doing something wrong?
Hi succulent circle!! My echevaria has a dying leaf and this is the second time this has happened, a couple of the leaves on the bottom are also looking like they are headed that way too :/ this happened one other time and I thought it was from overwatering but I haven’t watered it since. The leaves in the middle look nice and healthy but I’m still a little worried about her, any ideas of how I can help her or is it just not a super big deal??
Does anyone know if this is normal for this plant? Like the purple color to it? It wasn’t always like that
Help! Can anyone tell me what kind of sedum this is? I haven’t been able to find an accurate ID for it!
Went to a cactus and succulent show over the weekend and wanted to share some of my fav entries :) (more in comments)
I need some help please. I have a pencil cactus that I ordered on Etsy. It was in rough shape when it arrived. It has definitely grown in height as well as width but it is not red as it should be. I’m assuming it needs more light but I read somewhere that this particular cactus does not like direct light. I had a grow light right on it but then read that they don’t like that much light so I moved the grow light up quite a bit. Should I move it back?? Thank you!
I knocked off some leaves from my string of turtles putting her back after watering (😩😩😩) so I’m gonna try rooting the leaves. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Built my first succulent garden yesterday, so exciting! Some plants are new and others were plants I was raising. Some are propagated. Waiting for lava rocks to be delivered. Slightly obsessed! Enjoy!
HELP! I am new to raising succulents and cactus so I’m coming to you or for some help. 10 days ago I took these little babies from their mother and everybody was healthy and happy. In just a few days, these two little guys turned kind of a darker color and now look sort of shriveled. I watered them when they were repotted and waited to water again until they were dry but they just don’t look very good. I’ve included a picture of them when they were nestled with their mother and looking really nice. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? 😊💚🪴
I’m plant sitting, sorta. This is hiding at my house until the daughter of the new owner presents it on Sunday as a gift. Not at my house. Gorgeous, right?!?! I’m not so secretly hoping I “have” to keep it for longer. I’m really shy about Golden Barrels, so this is a nice pace lol. The name emerged from the mouth of a seven-year old. It stuck 😀
Sharing my new babies. I just repotted these beautiful Drosanthemum globosum. Hoping they will thrive in the new pots
Where I work was giving out free succulent clippings so I took some and potted them. This is Clarice and she looks just a little dehydrated She didn’t have roots when I grabbed her out of the box so I put her in soil and watered it. Any extra tips would be greatly appreciated never owned a succulent before before.
My Tom’s thumb is starting to droop and I opened it up, it was drenched, I pulled away any limp leaves, and repotted it in dry soil. Anyone have any other recommendations for what I can do to save this?
