Itās time to repot my Christmas cactus. I read or heard somewhere (canāt for the life of me recall the source) that they may not do as well in ācactus blendā soils.
So my question is, is this true? Should I repot with a cactus mix? Or would my aroid mix be better? (

Happy Friday everyone. Can anyone tell me if I am supposed to trim back this long stem after the flower buds have fallen off? Or do I leave a long stem?

My string of hearts is flowering and Iām trying to manually pollinate it. Any advice? The flowers are tubular with an enlarged base and petals that sort of block off the entrance so I tried to pollinate them by just removing the Corolla of two flowers and putting what I assume is the pollen sacs from one of them on to (what I assume is) the stigma of the other. Iāve found some pretty vaguely labeled images of the flowersā structures and I have some meager biology/botany background that Iām relying on. The natural pollination of string of hearts is extremely interesting so I recommend looking it up to anyone interested; the only issue is that itās virtually impossible to replicate it accurately at home, especially with the resources available to me.

Need some help with this little succulent. These are my first succulents and they were really overwatered for the first two weeks and this guy lost a decent number of lower leaves. Iām really happy to see the new growth but just surprised that itās so high up the flower stalk. Has anyone ever seen this before? Should I remove the stalk completely to encourage lower growth or see how it plays out?

Obsessed with this thing. It tripled in size in the 8ish months Iāve had it. Last week it started pumping out these side growths and canāt wait to see how silly it can look (species was honestly a guess)

Does anyone know what this could be? The shiny black spot. Itās hard and the little guy is doing just fine. Is this some sort of sap from an injury perhaps? Maybe I just donāt remember anything happening to it in the shuffle of settling him.

Hey planta friends! Iāve been taking care of this aloe plant for my best friend for a few weeks now, first 3 pics are from today, the last pic is the day I got it.
Iām not super familiar with aloe at ALL. But thereās 3 new leaves, and itās now standing up almost completely on its own, so I know itās improving. Any further suggestions to bring this baby back to life? š„¹

My Mordor, who was the first cactus in my collection to bloom (May 2022) - and what a bloom. She is currently clumping like crazy, and the flowers didnāt happen this year due to everything going on in my personal life since May ha.
āMordorā because there used to be what looks like a miniature gate. āMordorā also because the pain from these spines makes you want to throw yourself into a volcano.
She needs a bigger pot.

My frizzle sizzle has been flowering. I thought they flowered in the winter normally. I think I might chop them since itās causing my spirals to die off. What do you guys do with yours?
