So glad to finally use this pot, but if anyone has any suggestions if I should adjust anything 🫶🏻 I think it’s looking pretty good

I have these two jewel succulents and the pedals just keep falling off daily is that normal? The big one on my kitchen island is almost bare, what do I do?

Here’s an appreciation post for my new stapelia! It was $5 at my farmers market. I had no clue it would be fuzzy 😆 his name is Mushu

Anyone have any advice for my too healthy string of bananas? 😅 I love how long it’s grown but it’s getting heavy and I’m worried the stem will break! I’ve snipped off one branch to propagate in the same pot (so far seems healthy), but there’s just so many of them! Should it be pruned a bit or are they strong enough to hold all this?? It’s usually hanging, just laid out to show all the branches, and it was just watered.

Anyone a String of Turtles expert? In the summer it wasn’t putting out leaves like this. Really it seemed like it wasn’t growing much at all. I had it out in a hot sunny porch. Now it’s inside and has had part sun. I can’t tell if these new little leaves are good or bad because they are so tiny. Will they grow bigger?

I had a little consultation with a “blogger” (sucsforyou, but she is a lot more than a rando internet source) about my grow lights, specifically the ones that give off heat. It was as easy as “use your fan, hang your light higher.” Somehow, that inspired me to pull trigger on an Echinocactus/Kroenleinia grusonii. It’s obvs not a huge find, as these make up about 20% of the Home Depot plastic flower and googly eyes plants. I’ve just waited to have the right pot (thrifted) and hear one of them yell at me from the shelf. Pictured also is what’s growing in the back of the shop (Cactus and Tropicals in SLC, Utah). That pot holder did not save me, and I took that photo quickly so I could dislodge the plant from my hand.

I got this Sansevaria (i have NO idea if that’s spelt right Lol!) a couple months back. I only recently got the supplies to make soil mixes myself- bag of potting sand, orchid bark, perlite- and decided to do a soil swap on this boy as the soil was staying wet for so long and i was starting to worry it would develop root rot. Whilst swapping the soil, i made a spontaneous decision to separate these two plants! they looked too all-over-the-place together, and i think i’ll enjoy the look of them much more now that they are separated. The plant in the terracotta pot may be a little too big for the small size pot, but it was the only one i had on standby, so i’ll consider it a sort of experiment! the leaves weren’t in good condition when i bought the plant, but the new little baby leaves seem mostly happy to me so far:)

Hi, my string of hearts still isn't doing well, it's barely surviving not thriving like a lot of the other photos I see and I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong.

The red spines protruding over the rim like fingernails kill me. I have Halloween on the brain, and this scene gives me “skeleton’s hand appears, jump scare, more fingers reach out, skeleton crawls out of grave” vibes. Dusty has lived in a sunny window since day one. Flowers started around day three. It’s such a sweet plant I mistook for Copiapoa (insert vague species name here). It took a lot of digging (no pun) to identify. As I was doing so - and every time I dive into identification - all I could think was “evolution is nuts” when imagining how the few things separating the species is driven by which crappy environment a bat or the wind etc. drops their seeds. Not a deep thought, just another “wow” over succulents.

This has been a weird plant to grow. Despite any advice, I water it a couple of days after it starts to shrivel. I have also misted it………..which isn’t in any book. My turning point on “just water it” was based on a video of someone growing theirs hydroponically, which just did not compute. The stems were white and pink until I exposed it to full sun a few months ago. They are kind of crisp, but didn’t seem to affect anything. The yellow leaves could be from all that water, but they don’t seem to do any harm. They are more like platforms for however many new leaves they can hold. I tried to propagate a clipping to no avail. Wouldn’t it be cool so see an ice plant growing out of a pile of garbage in a landfill? That’s my dream for all the discarded plant bits. Future inhabitants are going to flip when they see it. Holy cow it has grown.
