I’m so SAD!! I thought this velociraptor aloe was perfectly healthy and wanted to put in another pot… went to remove it from soil and discovered severe root rot! 😭 any tips on saving it are so appreciated!

I would cut those into three different sections, put some rooting powder on them if you have any, put in soil and they should root up just fine. I often break off my aloe and put in new soil (even without rooting powder) and they just keep growing. Making sure to let the soil dry out between watering. Those things are hardy. I wouldn’t be worried.

Thank you so much! I do actually have some rooting powder. Does it look to you like I got most of the rotten off? Or should I just cut that whole bottom brown part off?

Also, should I let it callus or do right after the cut

I don’t see much in the way of root rot. Is it squishy? I don’t typically have them callus off with those. But that’s just my experience. I’ve never had an experience where they didn’t grow more roots and survive. Just water according to Planta.

It was all still in the pot. It had a huge root system that just mushed off when I went to replant it. 😞
