I was given a Christmas cactus to revive.. it was very overwatered and in a pot with no drainage, I transferred it into a plastic pot with drainage and gave it some dryer soil! Any advice? The place I have it right now is low-moderate light with shade in the morning until around 10.. it gets sunnier in the summer, where it gets lots of bright light.

Anybody know what these are on my Flaming Katy? Is it putting out roots or something?

Hi! I rescued a snake plant who was left out in the winter at one point and has fought her way back but she’s rough. I know they reproduce well but I almost feel like she needs a healthy snake plant companion to encourage her. I know that sounds ridiculous but Alberta seems to have a hard time supporting new growth. I gave her water and standard fertiliser today. (I’ll give her succulent fertiliser next time) She’s in standard potting soil. I transplanted a few months back when I joined this group and she shares a pot with the fancy poke poke there. What can I do to help her thrive going forward. Should I cut back the long leaf and trim any brown on the smaller shoots? Just leave her be and keep her on a good schedule of watering and fertiliser? ( planta instructions) as you see I added some decorations for her. There’s some rocks and whatnot. I’m also including a picture of the fledgling that didn’t make it.

I have zero proof, and this is only an observation after keeping these goobers for a year and a half. Really, no opinion is expressed here other than S. Africa produces some miraculous green lumps. First, peep the new one, which is twins. Twins! I got really excited last year when I read about this phenomena in mimicry plants. Second, I saw a tiny mite on the twins, hence why they’re currently drying out after a scrubbing. The observation is this: the colors of the flowers on these were yellow for weeks - a month in one case. I got two new plants of the same species and placed them all within “sight” of each other. The color of some parts of the flower changed drastically over the course of two days. It wasn’t a case of the flower crisping or changing color in different light. Do they sense each other and feel safe? Do they feel the need to change color to stand out from a crowd to get a pollinator’s (is that a word?) attention? Is it just a weird world and they know something I don’t? đŸ‘œđŸ‘ŸđŸ›ž

Is there any chance of salvaging my aloe? By the time I got up the courage to investigate and repot, the roots are totally rotted off 😱 Can I somehow encourage new root growth?

I think my aloe is overwatered? How do I save it?!

I’m such a noob with cactus care. I had better luck when I was totally ignorant lol I was just checking out the mealy damage I assumed I would have but all I can see is the roots are gone except for the tap and it feels fine. Not mushy anywhere but definitely dormant or dead. What do I do now? 🧐 How do I get it to grow roots and save it? Any advice is greatly appreciated 🙏 *Update: I’ve learned that the smell of pine needles is a sign of life! And the roots missing is from dormancy. I’m so relieved 😅 but I’m putting it in a clear pot so I can watch for roots

Hi everyone! I got this succulent about 2 years ago and he seems to be doing alright, but he’s leaning a lot— are they supposed to do that? Could it be because of the separation in the soil? There are also some brown/dried out leaves at the bottom so I’m not sure if that means he’s not getting enough water (which seems impossible?) or if it’s a normal thing and I just need to remove them. I rotate my plants pretty regularly so I don’t think it’s an issue with the direction of the light. My guess is that I probably just need to add a bit more soil to even out the top? Thanks for any suggestions! đŸ«¶

Purchased this cactus unrooted. I'd like it to straighten out and unsure of any issues as it has some black spots on the stem. Here's the current set up with soft plant ties and stakes. Any suggestions?

I pulled this stem from a pile of off cuts near my school and was wondering if I could nurse this back into a healthy Aloe Vera plant. When I got it it had some leaves (branches?) but someone mutilated it while I was occupied and I don’t know if it’s a lost cause or not. I know nothing about the health of it before I got my hands on it and would appreciate any help/info I can get, thank you.
