Hi guys! Can anyone tell me why my Opalina keeps losing leaves from the slightest movement? (I turn the pot daily so it gets even amount of light). I’m making sure not to catch it on anything and being really careful with it but every time I check on it it’s lost another🥲 it seems to be healthy but the lower leaves seem to be a bit more wobbly than the others? Any advice welcome:) are they just easily broken off or am I being heavy handed? I’m being as careful as I can😂 I’ve added any lost leaves to my propagations but I’m not sure if they’ll work considering I’m not sure how they came off🫣

I need help! I got this plant as a gift and it’s not thriving at all! When I first got it, it was exuberant but now the leaves have lost their color and are curled up. I had it in my living room with indirect light, but have since moved it outside to my porch where there’s more direct light. Any suggestions? Also, does anybody know what type of plant this is? Planta says it’s a Topsy Turvy but the picture online doesn’t match.

Hi plant friends! I found this poor cactus (Planta says it’s an Eastern Prickly Pear) on the sidewalk and want to try to save it 😅 The blue looks like flowers? And the top right looks like new growth. I’m assuming it broke off the main plant and I’ll have to propagate to grow new roots. Any suggestions? I’m assuming the red circle is where roots would come from so I have root hormone I can put on there and put in water and fingers crossed roots grow?

Me: “My monstrose is trying to unmonster itself.” Okay. This plant was listed as “monstrose,” but it has crests. After trying to explain what “monstrose” is, I realized I wasn’t sure about the terminology. So, after some digging, I now have a new term: “Cristate: This term is used interchangeably with crested, and refers to the fan-like shape of the plant. Monstrosity: This is another term for monstrose growth patterns, which often feature exaggerated or distorted features. Crested monstrosity: This term is used to describe plants that exhibit both crested and monstrose growth patterns.” Crested Monstrosity.

Very weird question. I was just cleaning my bunny ears cactus with a small paintbrush. I was a good foot away from it but all of a sudden my arms were itching like they were on fire and I had to go wash them off and change my shirt. It hasn't helped. I had to take a Benadryl. Still red and itching like crazy. Is there something allergic about that cactus? Didn't even get a thorn in me. Just brushed it off from a distance of a foot away. So weird!

Planta keeps telling me to water my conophytum but I’m pretty sure I’m not supposed to water it in the summer, especially since the two times I did water she lost a lot of leaves to mold. She is now a shadow of her gorgeous, former self. Does anyone have experience with these? I want her to thrive.

Still working on finishing the mosaic on this succulent planter but I have it on wheels so I can turn it once a day so all sides get sun so I decided I could wheel it outside and let it get some real sunshine. ☀️. I started this tower in March 2023. It’s an old store display I got from someone on Facebook market place. I drilled holes in the plastic bowls and it’s an evolving garden as some plants get bigger and I have to move things around.

I ordered these 4 succulents through the post and got them yesterday- I have pots I want to put them into but have read really conflicting advice about repotting? Some people saying to wait a week or two and others saying they do it right away with no issues! Would really like to not kill these instantly so any guidance is welcome 😂

Okay so my donkeys tail has gotten really bare and the leaves keep popping off I know I need to repot it but is that the cause of the issue? I have it under a grow light for 8-12 hours a day and only water when the soil is dry. I have had it for years and do not want it to die.

So I’ve had these strings in my office window for about a month now. I thought they would have plenty of light since it is a south facing window and they are in bright indirect light. However, my dolphins have turned into stingrays so it looks like I might need to invest in a grow light. I’m thinking about getting a bulb to go in my desk lamp, does anyone have any suggestions? Also, wondering if just the dolphins need the light or all of the plants?

Does anyone have suggestions about care after buying a plant from a store? I bought this cactus on sale at ShopRite but I don’t know its care history. Should I repot to fresh soil? Or leave it? I don’t know when it was last watered or what soil it’s in to know how to move forward caring for it properly.

My first Easter Lily Cactus bloom of the season! Wasn’t sure it was going to bloom again this year. Repotted and fertilized and it’s happy again!

Hello! I bought this cactus months ago, and sadly watched the top flower die. I kept it in the pot I bought it in. I was going to give it a proper burial once it looked like it was a complete loss. To my surprise (and great excitement) a tiny little arm started to grow. This pic is about 2 months since. Am I afraid to touch this? You bet! So I’m looking for advice from this group! Shes GOT to make it this time! She’s currently on my front porch with bright but not direct sun. I’m in NJ- of course she’ll be spending the winters indoors☺️ Thanks for reading!

Got this monkey tail because it has two buds ready to go. Took a little more than a week from when I brought it home! :D
