It’s looking 👀 so pretty my pearls
Got a New baby, this is Pearla. 💁🏼♀️
Christmas cactus, I think it’s just as pretty now when it’s not blooming as it is in November/December when it does bloom. This plant came from a cutting from a friend about 15 years ago. She’s one of my favorites
my best friend asked me to rehabilitate her aloe plant. so far it’s been repotted & watered. any other tips/advice?!
At one time I saw the living stones at my local Home Depot, but now that I want them I can’t find them. I go periodically to check to see if they have them. Well yesterday I found a couple of cacti that had broken off their main plant and were on the stand, which would end up being tossed away. So I did what any good plant mom would do. I rescued them but while moving the tray that other plants were in to get the one cactus, I found several more orphans. Now I have a bunch of cacti I hope will root, not to mention my greenhouse tray of seeds I planted. I may end up with a large family of cacti if the seeds actually grow too.
I sent the pic featuring last week’s new trio to a friend. His response was, “It’s ZZ Top.” Now that I’m not starry-eyed 24/7 over the two Copiapoa, I took a minute to repot this one. The root ball is pretty big, and shaking out the loose old soil wasn’t A) happening without unnecessary surgery B) necessary, as I know the shop’s default soil recipe 😀. I added some clay balls as a bottom layer and pumice to fill in the gaps. ps Note the holes in the bottom of the pot. Don’t fear the Dremel, as it changed my game. My game, though, is a semi intentional attempt to have something akin to the miniature map of the town in Beetlejuice. It just feels that way sometimes haha.
What is this? Every time I scan it I get a different name.
What kind is this? I think maybe a Sedum but not sure what variation. Thoughts? I rescued these pieces from the floor at Home Depot. Is it best to propagate these in soil or water? Obviously I currently have them in soil.
Hey everyone! Hope y’all can help me clarify/identify what’s going on with my Pickle Plant Succulent! For a while now, it’s base and all the leaves around the base have been dried up and brittle. (I actually think I got it that way) while the rest of it is thriving. I originally thought it was corking, so I let it be. But I just noticed that new leaves are sprouting from the dried bits! Reverse corking? Zombie pickle? 😅 I usually err on the side of “more time between watering” (cause I know thanks I don’t, root rot for everyone!) But is this a sign that it needs more water? Or just keep doing what I’m doing and see what happens?
Here is a case of a whim that turned into so much work only one baby is still with us. Part of my whim was inspired by learning how to use a Dremel, though; even a honey butter thimble could be a plant pot. It sure is a great photo hehe. The pic with flowers is from a few weeks ago. Note also that Rose Quartz was the closest related species I could find in Planta. The common name is Echinopsis “Mardi Gras.”
This is my kalenchoe donkeys ear plant. I went from having 1 to growing to 7. Now more babies are coming in. Can I pluck them off and plant them or let them fall off and land where they may?
my graptopetalum
Last year I cross pollinated a yellow Christmas cactus and pink Christmas cactus and recently harvested and planted the seeds. Today I see the first sprout. Pretty interesting process!
Could somebody help me identify this little guy I rescued from a gift shop please? I think it may be a “Dwarf Chin” but I’m not sure Thank you 😊
I’m new to cactus care and what are the basic care instructions for my spikesarus rex?
I’m new to plant care. My son picked this out but it’s not doing well. Any suggestions?
!!Im new to to plants!! I think I have a “pink lady” When i first got felipe(my plant) he had little yellow flowers growing out of him but now theirs dead and crumbly, there was also more of felipe growing out the side but its gone now as well? I water him every 2 weeks and he stays in my window but i still think he’s dying. The pot doesn’t have a drain hole on the bottom but I don’t have access to get him a new one. 1st image is when I got him 2nd is now, please help!!
So a few of the leaves fell off my little succulent when I bought it and now it seems like there’s roots coming out of them mid stem! Should I trim those? My plant is otherwise healthy.
🚨 NEWBIE HERE 🚨 Do I need to separate this?? After looking at this succulent pot I got a while ago, I’m wondering if I need to repot and separate these because they’re getting huge!
Does my fairy castle cactus have mealybugs?? I’m new to this and honestly can’t tell if this fluff is bugs or something else? And what to do about it?
