Ok, so I have a few succulents and one cactus, which is actually my daughterâs but I water him. I have no clue what the varieties are and there are so many to look through. What kind of cactus is this little guy?

In lieu of my recent post involving my delight over cactus shadows, here is an example of why I initially missed the potty humor. Iâm a curious artist with a head full of ideas that transfer over to whatever medium Iâm working on. Since I can remember, Iâve been obsessed with the weirdness of shadows. They are so liquid and temperamental and beyond our control as far as predicting a shape. A shadow is never exactly the same. ANYWAY. This Mother of Millions is a shadow machine.
Hi everyone! I wanted to post an update on my little friends. The third picture is when I first repotted them in March, the second picture is a week after, and the first picture is now. It has been quite the journey learning their cycles. Unfortunately, I followed the watering schedule that Planta recommended and my other lithops rotted from overwatering. :( Are you all using the watering schedule from Planta for your lithops? Any advice or tips for caring are welcome!
Any tips for this beauty? Iâm very proud of this aloe. It started in a 4â pot with only 3 leaves or so. Now itâs regularly pushing new leaves, and it has 3 pups! Iâll be separating the baby plants into their own pots soon. What else can I do to keep this one healthy?
Should I be concerned? My monkey tail is âstanding up?â pic where itâs down is how it came - shipped on Etsy and second pick is now. Am I doing something wrong? Why isnât it drooping?
A few years ago my son made me a little ceramic pot and I bought a tiny little âjet beadâ succulent to go in it. The lil pot doesnât have drainage so Iâm really careful about watering. I propagated it once as it started to outgrow the pot and then I just let it go. Today, new pot, with drainage. Look how handsome Jet is. đ« Iâve included pictures of his journey!
Crassula Deceptrix flowering. Not sure if they open more than this as it is flowering for the first time for me. Very pretty đđȘŽ
any advice on what to do about the baldness on the stems towards the soil? do i just chop and repot?
Trying to revive this cactus I was given, can someone help me figure out what to do? I watered it yesterday.
Hereâs another succulent that my sister asked me to revive for her lol any recommendations for what to do from here? The bottom of the stem is looking so bare & itâs leaning a lot more the last week or 2. It was in an east facing window before, but after we turned on the AC I moved it to the south window.
my sister is home from college and asked me to revive her dead succulents. This ghost plant was doing super well, now itâs looking leggy towards the top. I have it in a south window. Any other advice?
So excited! Succulents are my favorite, as you can see! That whole window is full. When did this group start? Canât believe I missed it.
Just transplanted my giant Jade Plant into a nice terracotta pot from its old plastic one. This guy was being neglected from my worksite, they were about to throw it out! Fortunately, they let me keep it. I will take good care of it. :)
This neat looking plant is about to flower for me for the first time. Interested to see what it looks like. Itâs called Anacampseros Crinita Dinter.
I got this prickly pear cutting from a friend and i planted it in some basic soil. I have fertilized it and it has grown like crazy in just a couple of days! If you have any tips pls let me know :)
I got a moisture meter and itâs a game changer. Donât water your succulents till they are bone dry. Apparently Iâm not allowed to post the link but hereâs a pic of what I got. It was only $12 and will save you from having to buy new succulents đđ
I had plans to send Mando (90% of my plant names are barely puns on a species name, or inside jokes, or both) to St. George, Utah where he could thrive on a hot outdoor patio with a much longer Summer. Well, I hated that idea because look at him. He rules. My new patio is deathly hot right now and too much of a hassle due to also currently teaching dogs what a patio is. My vague plan of keeping this dude indoors was made real with this Relassy light. (I wish Relassy would notice how many times I mention them haha.) Any lights I use are because of âthe best indoor plant lightsâ lists, and both of Relassyâs snake-arm types of lights are really bright and versatile. I took a light reading on one bulb and it was around 16,000 foot candles! I posted this somewhere else and was really amused at the shadow looking like Frankenstein. Then I looked again and realized everyone else was giggling for a different reason. See what you want to see lol.
Identify me please.. Iâve had these two for about a year. Some problems here or there with rotting leaves of, as you can see, some browning or slight discoloration, but they are hanging in there and I keep doing what I can to help them. Yet, I still do not really know what type they are. The light patterned dots are not raised and there is some jagged edging, which is kind of cool. Anyhow, any help all around is appreciated. I do have some new spouts coming up in both of them though. :)
Despite being a supposedly easy plant, this type of Bunny Ear opuntia has not been my friend. The first one I had seemed promising, but I knocked it over a few times⊠I got another one last Winter and watched it shrivel under grow lights and a modest amount of window sun. Here is another example of putting a plant in a bright/sunny south-facing window and letting it do its thing. I trimmed this off the last attempt, and itâs been kicking around but did absolutely nothing for months. Iâve been so deep on exotic plants where overthinking is inevitable. Itâs nice to have a âduhâ moment. Itâs wrinkly but growing. Also, really easy to relocate if necessary. I believe the âpotâ is supposed to hold butter, and Dremel-ing a drainage hole was surprisingly difficult.
Reading about wateringâŠdo I really need to NOT use tap water for my cacti and succulents that are house plants?
