Hey guys! I got Audrey II on April 8th (during the eclipse, little shop of horrors hahaha) and he's looking a little droopy. I got him on amazon and he's been like this his whole life, just wondering if there are any tips on how to help him out!
Plant SOS!!!! I accidentally left my Venus fly trap outside and it rained a lot and a cold snap happened! Iâm so upset cause it was looking the best it ever had! You canât see in the picture but there is two babies that are growing and they look fine but the rest obviously doesnât. Is it still alive? What should I do to help it????
Concerned plant mom. Is it normal for the leaves of a pitcher to dry out too?
Iâve had âFireballsâ for about 6 months now and overall it has been doing fine. You can see itâs been busy with flies at the window. Today I noticed that the oldest traps on the bottom seem to less green and almost like they are drying out. It could be paranoia, but it almost looks like the entire plant is less green. It gets plenty of sun via the window sill. And I always have a half inch or so of distilled water in the stainless steel bowl it sits in. Recently, my family and I left town, so I put a bit more water in itâŠand overall in the last couple of weeks Iâve been giving it a tiny bit more water than I used to; earlier on (last time I did that) it seemed to like it. So now to my question: what would the group say is the right amount of water it vs let it run dry - meaning, should the bowl get dry and stay dry for a day or two, or is it always supposed to have the fresh, distilled, standing water in itâs bowl? Also, can it get too much sun? Cheers!

Trigger The Isopod VS Snapper the FlyTrap Hi folks, this little isopod, Trigger, seems to have made a hobby of walking through my flytrap, Snapper. They are one of 6 isopods in this terrarium, and as far as i can tell the only one who frequently triggers the flytraps to close. Iâm worried that it will eventually stress and exhaust little Snapper. Were isopods a poor choice as cleanup crew for flytraps in general, or just for such a tiny flytrap? (I kind of hope i donât need to replace all the isopods with something smaller.) And do i actually have a problem, or is Snapper likely to be just fine even if many of the traps end up dying off before their time and without prey? I appreciate any advice from the community! 1. Trigger & 2 recent victims 2. Several days later, 2 victims pruned (after completely blackening) and a third victim in the background. 3. 1 day later 3 more traps trampled and closed, i expect it to happen 2-3 more times before they start to blacken.
Hello all! I was just looking for some advice on a new pitcher plant (nepenthes) that I purchased a few months ago at a store closing sale. It was in pretty tough shape when I bought it but since I brought it home has been putting out much healthier looking leaves. It still has yet to produce a pitcher though, and I'm wondering what I can do to help? It's potted in sphagnum moss and kept damp (I'm still not sure if you're supposed to leave them sitting in water or just keep them damp) and there are a lot of new plants at the base. I water with distilled water and every now and then some very weak orchid fertilizer (because I read you were supposed to fertilize if it had no traps to feed). Could anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I have never owned a carnivorous plant before and was excited to give it a try.

I went to a carnivorous plant show today and saw some really great bog setups.
I got my Venus fly trap about a week ago and I'm unsure how exactly I'm supposed to care for it. I know that they are bog plants which means they love water and I've seen people online say to leave them in water for humidity reasons. But, do I have to fertilize? Planta says no but, I don't think she's catching the flies she needs.
I was worried my Venus was going to die but is doing great also Iâve kept him on the windowsill for his whole life and his doing great no droopy traps
My Venus fly trap is honestly my little hero I went from being petrified of all creepy crawlies to catching them to feed to him and he is flourishing!

Howdy Folks. Bought my first Venus 2 months ago and repotted it in a 6â pot from a 2â pot in Sphagnum and sand mix. Hope that was ok to do. Itâs 6 inches from tip to tip looking like it has a couple of new sprouts with one of them just about ready to open. Question is, why do some of the fangs turn black? Iâve sniped 2 of them off since I got it. 1 of them was before I took this picture.
I wanted to ask if anyone has some knowledge on Nepenthes ventrata or neps in general regarding pitcher production because I canât seem to find a specific answer. So, the first picture is when I got this one and second is now. Iâve had it for 2 months in the same environment and itâs seemingly doing well. Itâs growing new leaves and pitchers and has had only one pitcher drop after turning brown. My question is on the third pic you can see the normal pitcher starting on the tendril but maybe half or more growing always turn dry and brown like the last pic when theyâre super small. The few others will grow into small red pink pitchers with fluid inside. So Iâm not sure if that is normal process. Iâm thinking that they probably donât grow a pitcher on every leaf at one time due to energy and what not or maybe itâs because thereâs enough viable pitchers on there for itâs size but thatâs all I got. If itâs not that then Iâm wondering is there a lack of something causing this like too much or little water/sun/humidity? For its current setup- itâs indoors in a south facing window that gets maybe 2-3 hours direct light but about 6-8 hours of indirect daily. Water it every couple of days when it feels just barely moist. The pot drains. It hasnât dried out at all and humidity is usually around 50%. I give it any pesky flies and it seems to catch flies and moths on its own that sneak in as well. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated! đ
My Venus fly trap. Also can someone tell me what variety he is, I think Dc-XL due to being 2 or close to 2 inch traps.
My littlest cephalotus has grown a very large pitcher! đ And the color is great too! Proud plant parent today!!!
My Venus flytrap fell and lost two fsngs will he be okay?
