Hi I’m new and I bought a Venus fly trap from a store and got it for free since it’s wilting and none of the traps close is it still saveable? It looks okay I already cut all the dead ones off (btw it’s name is Pete)

Hello! This is my purple pitcher plant (at least I think he’s a purple, he was not labeled when I got him) Helios, I got him about a week ago from a local seller. I have experience with Venus flytraps and wanted to venture more into carnivorous plants, he looks a little dry and a lot of his pitchers are no longer filled with liquid, how can I make him feel better? He is in peat moss and is given distilled water.

Is this dormancy???? I’ve been so worried thinking they were dying. Even the baby traps are turning black. I cut off quite a few traps that were already completely black

Hi I have a venus fly trap that has decided to kill all its traps, now baby ones are growing but they have some brown on them. I’ve let them sit in a bowl type of thing with enough water and they still are not growing properly! My nan who recently passed chose this one for me so i don’t want it to die.

Hey! I’m trying to start a venus flytrap from seed and it’s not going to well. Any tips for how to best do this? Should I just get a pre-stated VFT?

Dormancy is around the corner ❄️

Hi everyone, I’m new to this app and this group. I’m looking to get a new carnivorous plant for my hallway but I’m not sure where I could get one. I live in Belfast. Any suggestions will be appreciated

My Venus fly trap’s larger traps are all on their way out. They hadn’t eaten in maybe two months so I prompted a large trap with a fly I caught. The large traps are not responsive. Should I prune them? Will the little traps survive without food?

Hi, I'm thinking about getting a carnivorous plant but I didn't have much luck with my sundew a year ago and it sadly died. I had it in a glass jar with a lid on but not hair tight and there was a gap, what did I do wrong? And any tips on which Carnivorous plant is easiest to care for?

Hi new plant mum here this is Jeff had him a couple weeks now and he has made a lot of dramatic changes since I bought him from the garden centre I picked the least dead looking one there and he has truly flourished since haven’t killed him yet thank god so I’ve been watching a lot of Venus flytrap videos to really get a thorough understanding of water etc now Jeff’s been blessed with a last minute heat wave we had after a bearable summer and I’ve just started hearing about the dormancy period when it cools down and I just wondered what does this entail and what do I need to do with him thank you! (Ps is that little bud in the middle a flower growing it looks different to the rest)

this is hwahwa, my venus flytrap. the colder months are coming soon so i’ve been debating on how to keep her dormant during the winter! i live in zone 6, which is a little too cold to just have her outside, but my apartment complex doesn’t really have any indoor cold spots where i can let her sit. i read that a protected outdoor dormancy is suitable if you live in a colder area, so i’ve been looking into these tiny portable greenhouse things—so you think putting her outside in one of these will work? any tips are appreciated!

Ive had my venus fly trap for about 4 months now but my biggest wonder is if it needs to be fed? Ive never done it but i keep seeing contrasting opinions on google

Hi there! I just joined, but I’ve been keeping and rehabilitating nepenthes for almost a decade now. I’d love to keep really rare specimens someday but for now I seek out nearly dead nepenthes in shops and stores all around the PNW. I’m always available for questions or nepenthes health consultations for free @nepenthomancer on ig.

Hi all! I left my baby put her plant in the office Friday-Monday and came back to it looking like this. Can he be saved?
