Hi guys update on the purple pitcher plant. Could the problem be over watering? And not a good enough drainage? The soil and roots have a foul smell and there’s some white spots on the stems. Could it be root rot? If so how can I fix it? Should I stop watering her? And also some of the green parts are mushy at the stem and brown. Please help
My Sarracenia purpurea has toughed out this evil heatwave we’ve had (112f) and luckily is still growing its leaves!
Nepenthes Hamata x Robcantleyi basal tucked into some huge spagnum, with star moss growing out the side. This plant is seriously the love of my life 😂

Hello :) this is a purple pitcher plant I received as a gift but I think something is wrong :( I water her with distilled water and I feed her as well not often but I do feed her. I was wondering why the leaves are turning brown. Could it be that she needs more sunlight? Or a different pot? I don’t use fertilizer or anything like that so I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Any advice and suggestions are welcomed 💕

My 5y/o’s little plant wasn’t looking so good. The Planta app said that it was over watered. The top soil wasn’t too moist, but further down it was, so I questioned that diagnosis. I went through a few posts and decided that it was probably not watered well. I cut some of the limbs that were getting dark. I stuck it in a plate with filtered water. And put it back where it was originally, in the sunniest spot in our yard - which gets some shade in the evening. Anything else I’m missing?
Is there anything I’m lacking with this guy? I have him sitting in a tray with distilled water, substrates is nice and moist, it has its own grow light directly on it, looks like it’s growing a flower and other new traps. The reason I ask, I’ve had it about a month now and it does not eat. The hairs on all of the traps don’t trigger at all. When I first got it, it did get triggered once. I have cut off a couple of black traps which I’ve been told are dead guys. Could use some advice. I bought this guy and a nepenthes as my first carnivorous plants and i wanna make sure I can at least try to get it right 😬
Any tips on keeping a vft alive
Hey guys, my 8year-old son’s venus fly trap, “Jaws” flowered a few weeks ago, and are now spent. Do yall recommend dead heading, or leaving it as-is? Thanks
What I can only describe as “green goop” has developed on the top of my sundew soil. I can only assume it’s algae or mould from how wet the soil stays. Is this harmful to the plant?

Update/Question on Alan: It’s been a week since I’ve gotten Allan and he’s already grown a few new traps. I’ll take this as a good sign. I was wondering if I should be misting him. Some websites so misting them can be more harmful than helpful and others say it does help them. I have yet to mist Alan
Is this a good set up for a pitcher plant? or am I gonna have to change this eventually?? According to the lady at the shop, it’s in sphagnum moss, perlite, orchid bark, and sand. The terrarium is glass
is this normal? i’ve never pruned it so it is a build up but i just wanna make sure that there’s nothing wrong with my plant. it’s been growing new leaves and has a bunch of pitchers, is there anything i should be doing to make sure it’s ok during this season considering its putting out so many pitchers and probably expending so much energy doing so?
Hi! So my sundews are pretty upset. They’ve lost their dew :( here’s what’s goin on. I’ve had them for a few months now I’ve tried different lighting but not too rapidly. I’ve tried increasing watering frequency and always keeping the tray full I’m keeping them in sunlight now because being a bit away from the sun didn’t help much and seemed to make it worse. I also used to mist them but I stopped because I didn’t want to over humidify them since it’s already very humid in my bathroom . I’ve tried not touching them besides keeping them as they are in the window sill and giving them water whenever needed but they keep browning. I think I’m missing some thing. Is there anything else I’m doing wrong? Maybe they need a repot? A dome? Let me know , thanks! (Also, they came with flowers cut for some reason . I’m sad)
Where do you buy vft food
I’ve noticed these black spots on my nepenthes Alata. More spots on the older leaves than the newer ones.
