Hi, I bought a Venus flytrap today and it’s pretty cool. I trimmed most of the leaves because They were black. It was the only one alive, but now I have it set up to thrive.😊 Dose Anyone have pro tips?

I decided to repot my vft and NA trumpet. as expected, both were stuck in root traps, and they weren't even the paper ones that break down 😒 vft had the beginnings of root rot, which i trimmed and dipped in a hydrogen peroxide wash. traps on my vft kept rotting because they were touching the peat they were in previously, should i still watch out for that? how do i prevent it?

Yall my butterwort’s leaves are curling after transferring them from just sphagnum moss to a sandy chunky mix. Same light and water conditions. Any suggestions?

hello! i have a nepenthes pitcher plant who was doing really well a few months ago, but then the leaves started dying. i think i might have forgotten to water at some point. i pruned back all the dead leaves, but he hasn't pushed out any new leaves or pitchers for over a month. i recently repotted him into this smaller pot and used new substrate. when i repotted him, i noticed he had no roots but the stem didn't feel rotted. i hope the smaller pot will encourage more root growth since the other pot may have been too large. i also removed it from the water tray and placed it in my carnivorous terrarium that receive bright direct light for 12-14 hours. I heard that pitcher plants don't like to stay as wet as sundews, so i've recently been watering every 2-4 days. any help with be appreciated!!!

This is a drosera “Lotus Eater” doesn’t seem to be a bunch online, but I just transplanted these two pups into thus very unusual planter. Any tips as they get settled in to prevent transplant shock?

Potted my baby Nepenthes Gaya and Lady Luck today I’m so happy 🥹🥹 Any suggestions on how to maximize their growth and get them to the vining stage would be greatly appreciated!! They’re in spag/perlite, get distilled water, and are under a 49w/6000k grow light! 🖤

So today we went to the garden centre and my 11 year old who is autistic discovered the vft and wanted it as he found this very awesome and very quickly became obsessed about it, I am very aware that this plant may become a me looking after it as some of his obsession can be very short lived, I am sure he will do his own research on it but I was wondering if anybody can give me some pointers so I can help him look after it proper and what exactly does it eat 🤦‍♀️

hi everyone! i just got a new venus fly trap after mourning my old one that i had for three years (rip mr. munch). I got this new one on a whim and it’s been a little while so I’m getting back in the groove with a few questions. 1. Should I repot it from this pot into a larger pot? I took it out of its plastic cover but I figured i’d let it sit in this pot. I also didn’t know whether it’s too late in the spring to repot without too much stress. I have access to a larger pot and some carnivorous soil mix but I’m on the fence. 2. I have a dish under the pot right now, should I water and let the plant sit in the excess or should I water less? Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Hey! Just got this app, and I have a venus flytrap that my cousin got my awhile ago. Yes its from a plastic container thingy you can buy at any store. So, i am giving it distilled water once a day from the diah in the bottom. It think it might be dying since some of the traps are dead. Help needed
