Hey everyone, does my vft look like it’s dying? The leaves/traps all seem stiff and lifeless. I tried feeding it a live insect tonight but none of the traps would trigger.
My plants are under grow lights for 10-12 hours a day, I mist them at least once a day and also have them sitting in a pool of distilled water.
I’ve grown VFT successfully in the past but this time around I feel like I’m doing something wrong.
Any advise or input would be appreciated. 🪴

Got this Venus Flytrap a couple days ago from a kit and I’m really worried I might’ve killed it already. I didn’t know that tap and bottled water was harmful for them (watered it with both) and now I don’t know what to do. It also might be in a dormant state atm but I’m not sure. Is there any way I can save this?

Help! First-time Venus Fly Trap parent and it is not eating flies. Some of the leaves are browning and it seems a bit droopy. Can it be saved?

I wanted to create a bog bowl for a while and finally finished my little swamp corner. Peet moss mixed with Sphagnum moss with some Nepenthes, Drosera, and Venus Flytrap in a bowl. Wondering if the “bog” is too deep or is too saturated. Any advice or feedback is welcomed

I got a dormant pitcher plant from a cheap kit, and it’s grown a ton since I got it but I still have no idea what kind it is. It’s probably too early to tell, but I have a couple questions:
1. Are the tips of the leaves growing into pitchers?
2. Do pitcher plants go dormant, and if so how do I prevent or aid that?
3. What type might it be?
Thanks in advance!!

Hi all I’m new to carnivorous plants and just recently picked up a sundew (drosera capensis) but have had trouble keeping it healthy, I have it planted in sphagna moss and sitting in a west facing window with lots of afternoon light, all my new sprouts seem to start tuning black immediately, any help is greatly appreciated

Hi guys -
I was repotting my Venus fly trap into carnivorous soil. Unfortunately I spilled the soil right on top of the fly trap - and it got ALL of it in every trap. I know I can just buy another one- but, can it be saved? I’m not sure what to do. Every trap has soil in its mouth.
I always water with distilled water but in a panic tried to rinse it with our Brita filtered water. It didn’t work - these traps are tight lol

Hi everyone!
I’ve recently started a new terrarium project and plant to house a couple different carnivorous plants in it (tropical pitchers, sundews, and pinguiculas).
The tank is about 2.5 by 1 foot and 1.5 feet tall, cleaned it up, disinfected it, and rinsed multiple times with distilled water to make sure the plants will not get killed.
So far i have about two inches of drainage, and an inch and a half of perlite-sphagnum moss mix (i have more arriving tomorrow, plan to have a thicker layer than that). I also have some growing lights to be added on top for the plants since there is very little direct sunlight in that part of my room.
Through the process i’ve tried to find online resources but haven’t been as successful in finding some as i would like (especially concerning ventilation!), so any comment/tip/feedback is appreciated!

Hey, I’m wondering what’s wrong with my VFT I feed it dead flies and they close but they soon open and the flies are still there. Is that normal?

Hi carnivorous corner! So my VFT haven’t been eating for weeks almost a month! And it is because they are not getting enough light (working on that). But should I bye carnivorous plant food? I am worried it is not getting the right amount of nutrients to thrive. I was thinking about getting this fertilizer. But do you think they need it?

How long does it take for plants to digest their food?
my pitcher plant has many little bugs inside the pitcher but none seem to really be decomposing in the digestive acid or whatever the liquid inside it is called.
and i’m not really sure how venus fly traps digest their food, do i need to help it in some way?
any advice would be appreciated :)

I need help!! My VFT are getting eaten by something. Is it soil mites or spider mites??
Today I was watering them because it has been a few. And in one of their dishes a little white bug was running around. I killed it. Then I noticed this white stuff on the moss!! Mÿ questions are:
What are they?
Can I use neem on carnivores plants?
Do you think it is on my other plants around them?
Need an answer asap!! Thanks in advance!
