The app is telling me I have my nepenthes gaya in too bright of light. In my understanding they love direct sunlight (south facing window) and most issues come from not enough light. I’d say it’s been doing great for the few months I’ve had it. Just curious why the app would tell me that? 🧐
Disregard. They need attest 10 hours of as bright as light as you can get for them and yours is so far from a window there’s no way it’s getting burned. The leaves will turn a pretty red before any damage would occur from light. Just make sure humidity doesn’t drop too low, though you have a gaya and that’s a very hardy species of nep. 2 likes Oh also forgot say, you’re absolutely correct! Sometimes planta doesn’t have it all the way down for sensitive plants like carnivores and orchids and it’s best to trust your gut/what you’ve been told by other growers and what’s working for your plant. That includes watering sometimes when you know your plant (especially neps) need water even when the app doesn’t say it’s time. It cant really account for all our individual conditions but I think it does a decent job for most things. I will definitely offer some input to the app’s staff about this.
