    How cold is the windowsill it’s sitting on may be putting itself into dormancy I have one and started to brown when it snowed here not too long ago bc mine too sits on a windowsill but once the temp jumped it perked right back up this is from my experience hope this helps (:

    traps will turn black and die off, this is part of the leaves life cycle! you can cut the trap off once it is black, and leave the rest of the leaf if it is still green. the traps can only close 4-5 times before dying, so make sure you are only closing them during feedings. Sarah could also be correct about dormancy - a nessicary process for the plants size and life in the long run. if it is cold enough you can reduce the amount of water youre giving, and generally leave it alone! when the weather starts getting warmer, the plant should naturally come out of the dormant period. you can increase your watering schedule back to its normal frequency. there is also another way of having it go through dormancy in your fridge! i will let you reseach that on your own, as i only know of one way of going about that. it is a bit late in the northern hemisphere to start the dormancy period, so i wouldnt worry about that this year. other than the black traps your plant looks healthy! maybe a little bit in need of water, as the leaves looks a tad wrinkly. they are bog plants, so i have mine in a nursury pot sitting in a few inches of distilled water, held by a coverpot! (i attached my old VFT for an example) hope this helped, and good luck!!

      Did you repot it yourself? I haven’t been able to find carnivorous plant soil in my area. Do you think it’d work to just get organic moss and rinse it really well before repotting the flytraps in it

      Be sure it actually needs to be reportted. “Carnivorous soil” is just 75% plain fertilizer free peat moss and 25% pearlite.

      What is a cover pot? I want to do this to my VFT. I am a first timer 😊

      a cover pot is any kind of pot (typically ceramic) that you put an already potted plant in. the already potted plant is typically in a plastic nursery pot. in the photo i attached, the black is the nursery, and the bigger blue one is the cover. just make sure the one you use for your VFT does NOT have a drainage hole, for pretty self explanitory reasons :)

    Maybe watering issues have you tried rain water, r/o water or distilled waster on it?
