    I don’t mist plants because it’s more harmful than helpful, and it doesn’t really help with humidity. If you want to up the humidity, put it in a clear enclosed container like a mason jar or something similar.

      I don’t have a venus fly trap, but I do have pinguiculas, a sundew and, some pitcher plants. Yes, I mist my pitcher plants as well. They do well in dry Texas heat as long as I mist them once a day. I assume all carnivorous plants, that don’t have dew on their leaves, would appreciate misting. I think how often to mist will depend on your environment. Start with Planta’s recommendation as a guide, then adjust if you notice your plant struggling. Hopefully someone with a venus fly trap will chime in soon.😊 As for putting it under a dome, you could but then it can’t catch household bugs which is important to me. Also misting absolutely changes the humidity level depending on how often you do it. It’s like putting a humidifier near it. I mist my pothos and brasil philodendron twice a day with a fine mist sprayer. I did some experiments in my master bathroom over the last month and this is what I found. If no one has used the shower for several hours and the vent has been running, the humidity is 45. If I mist the plants, it becomes 55-65 for a few hours with the vent running, and most of the day without the vent running.

    If they are like the other carnivores plants I have, it needs distilled water and to sit in a tray of water. It’s a true bog plant like my sundew. I pot mine in terracotta (to help absorb water) with sphagnum moss and perlite. About 50/50 ratio.
