Is it normal that my VFT is turning black??? Is it dying?

    I was at a nursery yesterday reading about VFT. Their info sheet said that VFT go through a period of dormancy and turn black. Don’t freak out, remove the black, it will come back if you continue proper care. The info I’m missing is what exactly to do DURING dormancy.

      So what I read up on, you still water them but not as frequently. Apparently it can cause this white mold (happened to my plant and I had to remove the parts that had mold and once it warms up here I have to repot it). The trap heads won’t be as active, so feeding them won’t happen as often as it typically does. Apparently repotting during dormancy isn’t good for them

    If it’s not dormancy, it’s perfectly normal for the traps to turn black, especially if they’ve been triggered a few times. It’s like a plant shedding its old leaves.
