100% repot!! You can use peat moss as the “soil”, that’s what these guys thrive in

I believe they’re already in peat moss or something similar, as I have the same. Ideally repot during growing season when not trying to go dormant, may stress the plant less. Peat moss is the classic, though I will mention studies do show it isn’t necessary (as it isn’t sustainable to harvest), provided the soil mix used is low on nutrients and salts etc.; dried sphagnum may work fine, or washed coir, or other specialist carnivorous plant mixes.

Most VFTS are going into dormancy right now..you can repot if you really want to but there’s not really any reason to do much other than keep moist and in a bright window. The pot it’s in isn’t too small. Honestly I would only repot if it’s in a medium that is inappropriate.

Also, I wouldn’t use 100% peat moss as it’s bad for the environment and they do require some drainage. Spagnum with sand, and some orchid bark or pearlite or any combination of the three will do just fine if you do end up needing to repot someday. Remember not to use tap water, only RO, distilled, or rainwater should be used on carnivorous plants.

I have the same brand and it seems okay, very boggy and poor draining medium, though shouldn’t affect it as carnivorous plants typically like boggy, wet soil. Thank goodness I have a water butt now, I had a Venus flytrap when I was little and the poor thing died a slow death as I used tap water.

Yeah really best to just leave it. If it’s got access to the right light when spring comes it’ll pop right up.
