I don’t know why my sundew is drying out. Can anyone help me? I haven’t done anything different. Could it be because it’s so cold outside? If so are there any tips to help?

      If you have it in a water tray that's keeping it in a bog type condition constantly wet, and you're using distilled, RO or rainwater. That shouldn't be the issue. Sundew are generally tropical to temperate so it's possible it's cold related if the window is drafty. Or lack of light. Do you keep a dome on it all the time? They dont generally require it, and it prevents them from eating naturally.

      I don’t have the plant in a dome but maybe it could be the light since it’s been very cloudy and I have been using distilled water in a little tray

      I live in WA and I have to supplement the Carni's that don't go dormant with a grow light. There's some under this one

    It could be a root problem. If it had the same soil from the nursery, there normally a little woven cloth around the root ball

      Normally overwatering alone doesn’t hurt them much, but I would definitely check the root situation. As long as you are using distilled, rain, or RO water and have it in a water tray with a humidity dome, then I wouldn’t think it an issue. You could also try a none “soil”-well draining mix. I really like coarse sand, milled spagnum/peat/coco coir, perlite, and pumice/leca (25% of each).

      Do they do the same thing with Venus fly traps? I just rescued one from Walmart 😬 all I did was put it in a cup of water.

      Yeah it’s definitely possible. A lot of my carnivorous plants have the “cloth” with peat moss and it’s wrapped in sphagnum. I also check any plant I get especially carnivorous plants and around that are in 4inch pots or smaller. I think it’s called a nursery/seedling plug
