she’s finally here!! please share your care tips!! i have her under a grow light on its lowest setting and i plan to increase the settings every other day

    Okay comrade here’s the deal. You already know you need to keep an eye on the humidity in your set up to keep the pitchers coming. It’s a little far back from the window so if it starts to look a little green or slow in growth get more light on it. Looks like it’s in perfect media, wait until it gets to the moisture level of a rung out sponge and then give it a good soak. Always feel the soil, planta has good guidelines but go off the soil soil first and foremost. You got this!

      The color is telling me it’s used to some pretty strong light so don’t be afraid to turn that grow light all the way up even now. And one more tip, you can get a little hygrometer to set next to it for like 7$ on Amazon. Mine tracks humidity and temp and has been great. Don’t forget to make sure the water you use is under 70 TDS, reverse osmosis, or rain. I’m sorry I think I covered it all now 😂

      i have one of those!! i’ll move it closer! thank you so so much!! you’re literally the best i cannot thank you enough!! i was a little worried to scorch her with the grow light but tmw morning i will turn it up!!

      i always have distilled water on hand as my alocasia is finicky and doesn’t like the hard water where i live, i’m lucky enough to be able to get a few gallons at a time and keep them in a cabinet to stay stocked :)

      It’s going to go great! Usually I suggest the plastic bag acclimation method but it looks like the humidifier is right on it so that might be enough to stop it from stalling growth in any way or losing any pitchers. It’s possible the pitchers to loste their fluid in transit so make sure you add just a little bit of water to them- they won’t be able to digest with that water so absolutely don’t try to feed them (you won’t need to worry about that for a long while and we can talk about fertilization later once it’s settled and started to put out pitchers) but adding water to the the otherwise spilled pitchers will keep them from drying out so you can enjoy them longer. 🖤
