I received this little pink polka dot plant as a bonus plant with a recent order. I struggled and failed to keep a white one alive. So, I'm scared at receiving this little one. I know they need humidity and probably should be in terrium set up, but any other suggestions and tips
Hey I’m looking for plant recommendations for a bathroom! For context, I live in the UK, the only window in the bathroom is west facing and is frosted glass so not the brightest room, especially as the days are starting to get shorter. I’m looking for something fairly robust, low light tolerant and will also be able to deal with the steam from the shower. I’ve currently got a big pothos hanging up that’s been happy in there for a while. Any recommendations for what I can add to the bathroom? x
I came up with this set up in my head, I plan on adding more plants to the ladder but is this humidifier the way it’s blowing even going to effect the plants to the right? ( I’m new to this) or should I just put my tropicals on the ground near a floor humidifier.
Just curious does anyone know how tall a dwarf snake plant gets? Here is my little homie just wondering if he is going to get any taller
I started my plant hobby this summer and my plants have all been on my balcony since I got them. I wanna move them indoors for the colder months, the spot they’re in doesn’t get much sunlight so do we think bringing them inside will shock them? Can anyone with a similar experience give me some advice plssss? 😜
So my polka dot plant is growing at a rapid rate and it need support, what would be a good way to support this because I don’t think a moss pole is necessary :/
Hello! I own a zebra plant and lately it hasn’t been doing well. Leaves have randomly fallen off with no sign of being dead. Many leaves have these brown tips. One leaf is a super light green. And even after watering, many leaves aren’t perking back up. Lots of problems. Please help!! I love this plant
For a few years this fiddle leaf fig has struggled to grow mainly due to neglect and bad practice. I’ve been very careful watering it and making sure it doesnt burn in the heat as well as making sure its moist. I’ve put a lot of time into the plant and now its growing a few leaves. Hopefully it doesnt turn bad and I can bring it inside…
I really am not trying to kill this lucky bamboo. I’ve struggled for a couple of years: 1. It was first brought home by my son, 3 stalks, and placed each in a bottle. Seemed to be ok but he wasn’t consistently changing the water and it didn’t look healthy so 2. I stepped in and planted it in a pot with soil. Did ok for a bit then wasn’t looking great, looked like it was drying out- so 3. I thought I’d try back in water as it looked like most people kept theirs that way. I cut the dry parts off & placed it in a jar with pebbles and it started growing new branches. Then it started looking pale and 4. I took it out and saw it had started to rot. So I cut the rotting part down…. 5. Now it’s in clean water for over 2 weeks and no roots. Leaves are starting to look a little pale. Should I just let it go?
Well I finally pulled the trigger on this beauty today the Aglonema Siam. This plant is beautiful!!! I already purchased the silver bay back in July and thought maybe I should get the art of the proper care of it first before purchasing anymore. Well not so😂😂😂say hello to Trisha and Tania..it was enough for a split for 3 in one pot but I only did the two😂😂..and I have a small 2 inch Aglonema coming in from Amazon Friday🤦🏽♀️ I’m gonna try a hydroponic set up with that one with Lecca clay balls 🤞🏽
Hi! This is my new girl I got today. It’s a Peperomia. Can anyone give me some pointers of how to care for her. Thanks! I just think she is so pretty!😍
I would really appreciate some help with my spider plant who was recently given to me by someone very special. My spider plant is named Herbie and matters a lot to me. I would be really grateful for help with a few things! I am very much a beginner! 1. I’m not sure whether Herbie is one or two or even three plants? It looks like there are multiple in the same pot but I’m not sure? 2. Is this enough room for Herbie? There are some roots coming out of the bottom of the pot so I’m worried the pot is too small and I need to repot? 3. I’m worried about light as apparently they need some sunlight but at the moment Herbie is receiving only shade because my bedroom is on the north facing side of the house. I only have one windowsill facing north and no other option of location. Is that ok? 4. I’m worried about over watering. How do I know when I need to water and when not? Any help would be massively appreciated!!! I really care about Herbie and want to do my best! 🪴
What is this ? It’s growing in one of my pots ?
Last night I found my very first mealybug, but it was only a single one and it was on a florida ghost cutting in water, so I'm not sure what measures I should take now. Attached is a photo of the cutting in question, and the mealybug was sitting at the very top where the petiole meets the leaf. It was only a single one and I didn't get a picture because I panicked and immediately wiped it off with alcohol. I also wiped the rest of the leaves and petioles just in case though I did not see any more. It sits on a counter and the only plants nearby are two begonia leaves in a shot glass (trying unsuccessfully to prop lol) and a dendrobium orchid -- I inspected every inch of the dendrobium and didn't see any signs of them. I do have 7 new plants but none of them have been near this cutting. I'm certainly not naive enough to think that it was for sure the only one, but I'm not seeing any others anywhere. Does anyone bave recommendations for what other steps I should take to make sure I don't have any others? I know what an infestation look like once it's all over, but not sure what signs to look for before an infestation gets bad. Are there any safe preventative measures I can take?
Is this enough sun? It gets direct sunlight in the afternoon for a few hours? (PPP,Neon Pothos, Aglaonema) Thank you in advance for any advice, I’m pretty new to this ☺️
my cat took some nibbles🤕
What was the plant that got you into plants? For me it was pothos! Growing up my dad always had so many different kinds trailing pothos all over the house. When I moved out I got myself a golden pothos. It grew like a weed and then I got a snow queen and a neon and that was that. I now have so many different types of plants but trailing plants will always be my favorite especially pothos!
Hi, I’m new here and about plants, so I’m not sure what’s considered normal for plants. I have a hibiscus plant and it was growing a few buds, but they suddenly fell off. What could be the cause of the buds falling off before the flower blooms?
Any ideas what these things are growing out of the top of my rubber plant? Just sprouted over the past few weeks, now my plant is leaning heavily. Do I leave them be or remove? Thank you!
