Any tips/advice for fertilizing plants using a self watering rope? Iâm new to fertilizing my house plants, but am going to give it a try per the appâs instructions. The first plant Iâm to fertilize is my fiddly fig that is self-watered. Itâs fiddly and Iâm nervous! Do I add the fertilizer to the self-watering reservoir or top water it? TIA!!
I received these cuttings on Friday from a jade plant and pencil cactus. Iâve let them callous over- whatâs the best way to get them to root?

Hi all! Looking for a little inspiration for my trandescantia. I had her on a trellis but she overgrew it and it couldnât stand her weight đ pic 1 is before detangling her. Pic 2 is where we landed in a new pot after she lost some stems in the process. I basically just put all the vines on top of each other so my cat didnât eat her đ Wondering what creative things other people have done to display their trandescantia?
Hello Planta community! New gardener here. Last fall I created my first garden. Itâs all perennials and ornamental grasses in the âNaturalistic Styleâ. Iâm wondering if I should cut all these plants down before spring like I would if they were established. Theyâve only been in the ground since early October and are very small. Figured Iâd start here for guidance before searching each individual plant. My plants include: Anise Hyssop, Amsonia Hubrichtii, Amsonia Blue Ice, Aster Eastern Star, Calamagrostis Acutiflora, Deschampsia Cespitosa, Echinacea Purpuria, Rattlesnake Master, Festuca Glauca Elijah Blue, Allium Millenium, Little Blue Stem, Hakenochloa Grass, Little Spire Russian Sage, Rudbeckia American Gold, Sedum Autumn Joy. Advice needed! New plants and Iâm clueless đ Hiiii everyone, Iâve been itching to expand my plant collection and today I got 6 new ones Iâve never had before. After putting them in my Planta app I realized I had no idea what I was doing when it comes to caring for some of them. Iâm also quarantining my new plants for the first time since I didnât get them from greenhouses I know & trust. I would really appreciate advice on how to help them thrive and also what issues/pests to watch out for! The plants in question are: - Elephant ear (not sure what variety, I think the normal kind? Got it from the farmers market) -Swiss cheese plant cutting (rooted) -Philodendron Micans cutting (fresh, not rooted) -Pearl and Jade Pothos cuttings (x2, rooted) -Satin pothos starter plant from a cutting -Baby variegated Alocasia (dawn?), growing from a corm in a lil container of sphagnum moss (has a dome lid not shown) The elephant ear has some weird texture on its leaves but I didnât really see any signs of pests, Iâm still quarantining it from the other new plants (which were all from the same source) just in case. I hoping it just got a bit chilly while outside at the farmers market and is being dramatic.
Any idea what type of plant this is? Itâs just labeled ittie bittie bonsai lol
Okay, so sad to write this. Our plant Whitney was soooooo much alive when we got her and now sheâs sad asf lol At first, she didnât have a drain and some of you mentioned how sheâs difficult and needs a drainage pot. So we just switched her over and put her closer to light. But man, by the hour sheâs getting said and bottom leaves start turning! Any advice? Her soil currently is wet. Like wow. Her before and after within 2 weeks and her leaves. Then said to water her until water comes out the bottom but dang. Itâs not leaving the pot lol ugh. I feel so bad for her. Any advice lol
