A leaf fell off of my Flamingo Lily, so I put it in water to see if it could be propped! Comments??? TIA… 🤗💚🪴 PS. I’ve also noticed a very slight opaque-ish cloud, sort of hovering around the base… it’s hardly noticeable. But I’ve rinsed out the glass, rinsed off the root, and put fresh water back in it, two times. Is that the appropriate care for propping this leaf? Is this almost invisible cloud something negative?

I have had a terrible time with BLACK SPOT on my golden mosaic. She’s been treated at least three times with neem, and I’m switching to a copper fungicide for the last spray, and maybe another spray after that. I’ve removed at least 3/4 of her leaves in the past couple months. With black spot, is it necessary to remove all leaves that are touched by that fungus? Also, if you can see those SPIKES THAT ARE DRYING UP, those are what’s left after I chop off a leaf, (see second photo ). Can those be cut off at the base; they’re sort of ugly, but I’m a bit afraid to do anything more that might harm her. Is there a SITE THAT EXPLAINS more than Planta does about this plant? She must belong to the prayer plant family, because she lifts, and lowers her leaves, at strange times of the day. She is a rather unusual, and interesting plant, and I’d like to understand her better. TIA for any more knowledge about her…🤗💚🪴 PS. How do you make RED MARKS on a picture to show members the areas of your expressed concern? PS. She does have the beginnings of four new leaves, which I’m extremely happy to see! 🤗🤗🤗

Halloween countdown: Root-Bound Horror 🪴 "Trapped in a twisted web of roots, your plant becomes root-bound—an eerie state where it can’t stretch or thrive! The pot is its prison, leading to stunted growth and a sad, shriveled existence. Repot before it’s too late!" Been here? If so: * Try to remove the plant from the pot, carefully (!) remove some soil and carefully (!) loosen the roots a bit with your hands. * Repot it into a bigger pot (always with drainage holes) with fresh new soil all around the old. 🎃 👻

Does anyone know what type of plant this is? I believe it is in the Aloe family but when I scan with my camera nothing comes up that looks similar.

For winterized outside plants in the porch/basement/garage, do you continue watering when you see them droopy/depressed? Does the app keep decreasing the frequency as the weather keeps getting cooler/colder? Feels like I'm doing something wrong, since if I'd leave outside, it would still be getting some type of hydration whether rain or snow...

What’s is everyone’s solution to a cat chewing on or eating your plants? My daughter’s cat is chewing on our houseplants! Thankfully all of them are pet safe/non toxic, but we’d prefer he not eat on them! Any suggestions/solutions?

Look who decided to bloom today! Recently rescued this cutie from a local nursery that’s closing after 73 years in the area. She was very soft and wrinkly when I got her, and some of her lower leaves still aren’t too cute, but this little flower decided to start peeking out about 3 days ago, and I was in for a pleasant little surprise this afternoon 😊 this is my reminder to all of you that even something that’s been neglected or struggling for a while can bounce back with a little bit of care.

Halloween countdown: Fungus Gnat Fright "Enter the fungus gnats—tiny, pesky terrors that swarm your plants like a ghostly cloud! They’re everywhere, buzzing around your face, even flying straight into your nostrils when you least expect it. These relentless pests might be harmless, but they haunt your home like a curse, never truly leaving. Just when you think they’re gone... they’re back, driving you mad with their endless fluttering!" Anyone who won the fight against them? Anyone who still fights?

Went on a trip to Australia and New Zealand recently and thought I’d share some pictures of houseplants doing their thing in nature ! I know most of these plants but not all so feel free to puny out others as you see them. I believe I saw monstera, golden pothos, a variety of ficus, some sort of calthea and anthurium (?), spider plants and peace lilies.
