Hello! I recently repotted my Monstera Deliciosa, as I knew it had been potbound for a while (roots growing out of drainage holes, plus being able to remove entire root ball from the growers pot to see the coiling) but had started to show more signs (lower leaves growing smaller and turning yellow, soil drying out in a few days, etc). I used a chunky mix of moisture control potting mix + perlite + orchid bark and went up about 3â in pot size; also giving it a moss pole to climb and securing it with Velcro. Put it back in the same bathroom windows. But itâs been about 3 weeks and it almost looks worse. :(
Help!

My Anthurium warocqueanum went from this (first photo) to this (second photo). All because of thrips.
However, after treating it by giving it a soaking bath in neem oil solution, repotting it and releasing predatory mites, it has started to sprout.
Iâve seen a few juvenile thrips, newly hatched out of the leaves of the plant, but they quickly disappeared. So I think the mites are working pretty well đ

Hello everyone! I was hoping I could get some advice for fungus gnats. I had purchased contaminated soil from a big box store, big mistake. Any way long story short I have used sticky straps in my plants. I got rid of most of them but itâs been a couple of years and I canât seem to get rid of them completely. Any advice is truly appreciated!

What a weekend! I got a cactus garden yesterday! I love it so much! đ”đ
This morning I repotted my Cylinder Snake Plant because it was long overdue. She had thicc juicy roots and the babies were bursting out of the pot! The picture of it in the small blue pot is from the day I got it last year. She and her babies finally have room to breathe!
Did y'all get and/or do any planty things this weekend? đđȘŽ

Help with succulents and âstring ofâ!!!!!!
First, my succulents are always getting etiolated even when under grow lights all day!!!! I got an old lady cactus and it looks like a weird cone now. And Iâm always so scared to water them!!! I donât have âgood drainingâ soil no matter how hard I try
And I cannot keep âstring ofâ things happy no matter what I do. Theyâre always drying out or rotting away. I had a string of hearts that was beautiful and when I saw it had a low of water stuck in the soil because it was root bound, I repotted it and now itâs down to a few straggly pieces that are wrinkled but Iâm scared to water them because I donât want them to die!!!
Help!!!!

Plant resurrection story!! In August, my husband gave me a big, lush, beautiful Hawaiian Ti plant, that within a few weeks developed a mite infestation and no amount of bathing or doctoring seemed like it was going to save it. It had 3 stalks, and after a little research indicated they could be water propogated, I took a desperate stab and chopped the 3 stalks off to propogate 3 plants (hoping at least one would survive.) All three developed roots, and I put one in dirt and kept 2 in water. The one I potted, died. For months, the water-based ones didnât get better, but they didnât get worse?
But now! The older leaves are a little crispy at the edges, but WE HAVE NEW LITTLE SHOOTS!!! I think they might make it!

Hello Planta Community! Incoming cactus flowers!
Tim W
Iâve had this hibiscus for 7 years, it was my first plant and I mistreated it for years. Itâs looked left for dead after spider mite infestations that required warm baths to remove, I didnât fertilize it for years, had it in the wrong soil type - but now Iâm strictly following the planta advice as of the fall and itâs been looking better than it was.
Think thereâs a chance it starts growing a lot come springtime? Should I consider propagating some of the branches? Any recommendations are welcome. It does have a lot of sentimental value.

I just bought a couple of cyclamen plants in pots. One of the plants has lots of yellow leaves. What does that mean?

Birds of Paradise Im growing indoors to keep the massive leaves unbroken. 7th Leaf currently sprouting. Goal is to have 10-20 fully grown, unbroken BOP Leaves emerging from the same widening base, like a peacock tail when it fans open. Worried about the rootball over time. Anyone familiar with how BOP roots or have care tips to share? Hoping this works because itâs currently as tall as my ceiling and if it fans and even doubles in leaffage, could be a showstopper.

A super kind friend gave me a grow light bulb since my place is rather dark. Iâm just a little confused over how long I should keep it on each day? Is it supposed to be on during the night too? Iâm sorry but Iâve never used one before but I want to give my coleus more light so it grows better. Thank you!

Can I go dig on my alocasia soil to see if she has corms without disturbing her so much? I donât want to repot her yet but I do want to dig for corms. Can that be done without causing her stress?
TIA for any insight đđ»
