Update: Had planted this yesterday, itâs one healthy hugger. It is a Pygmy date palm, phoenix rebelini (sub tropical palm) known to grow in double, triple, and sometimes even quad. Native to South Asia, and it grows a hard like shell Also known as a dwarf palm, slow growing , short curving. I highly suggest getting at least two for your yard or indoors, the aura of an amazing scent with at least 4-5 ft , highly recommend mixed with a lavender plant near. Added to my collection : 6inches a year Highly suggest picking up ph, potassium and magnesium fertilizer is a must,

Thank you to everyone who was so helpful and supportive when I was unsure of my ideas thinking đ€ moth larvae cacoon? đ but it was drenched from the hurricane and not drying out so I moved her to the spot with the best airflow and facing west đ” I finally found her sweet spot đđ„°
I thought I asked this before and yet I cannot find a post from me. The long leafed items, contained in the upside down tomato cage, are my amaryllis bulbs. Last year I left them outside till end of September (at least then maybe longer.). They did not produce any amazing trumpet flowers by the time the Christmas holidays came around. Instead I had Easter Amaryllis. Which holiday the trumpets blast is not important to me. What Iâd like to know is: when do people take a perfectly healthy plant, whoâs getting sun, and stick it into a dark cool basement while cackling and saying âSee you in 8 weeks. If you live through the darkness.â Then with more cackling as you turn out the light. Oh and ignore the baby tiger. If Paris Hilton can have a purse dog then I can have a backpack tiger. (Iâm kidding.)
Any tips for leaving plants for a few days? I live in a small apartment in a small apartment complex with one only window. The rule is that we arenât allowed to have electricity running if we are not home so Iâm going to try and get all my plants around the one window with the more larger/more dark tolerant plants in the back and small/more light needing plants up front. Thankfully this is a cooler weekend and my apartment is very well insulated so the goal will be to get the apartment as cold as possible while I am here and then hope that it stays cool while I am gone. Any things else besides a through water for the plants that need it? I will only be gone for four days but this is the time I will be leaving my plants in a situation that isnât fully ideal so trying to make sure Iâve covered all my bases.
My croton looks like itâs about to shoot out four big leaves đ«¶đŒđ«¶đŒđ«¶đŒ
my 'pilea plant' has had brownish stems and browning edges on a few leaves for the past week or two....is this caused by overwatering or too much light? any ideas/advice? also mine has a couple sprouts around it so I want to replant all in a larger pot...when is too soon to repot??
HELP is this a good sign or not? What should I do? Just found this mushroom here today but itâs been six days since I checked so could have arrived earlier
does anyone know what kind of plant this is?
hi can someone please tell me what type of plant this is?? i got it from a friend and they said it was a baby monstera but idk.
I purchased three maypop cuttings a couple of months ago and potted them up. I had them on the back porch but they got a bit of sun-scald so I relocated them to the front porch instead at least until I figure out the best place for their permanent home. About the same time I purchased them, I found one growing wild in my front flowerbed. I dug it up and potted it as well. While all four are growing the cuttings arenât doing nearly as well as the wild variety and have a distingly different tri-lobed leaf. The wild one looks like the maypops I have grown in the past unlike the cuttings I was sent. Any idea what I might actually have?
Iâm a new plant and I have had this plant for roughly a year. It is just now started to like really grow well, but then the leaves started turning red. Is it supposed to do that or is it too close to the window? Iâm not sure if Iâm hurting it or if itâs supposed to do that and it likes being Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Introducing Boobie cactus!
This spider just doesnât want to grow, started 2 months ago. It is in a 8âpot I fertilized it.
Drought resistant and fire tolerant, :) (Jokes)
A few months ago I pruned my jade plant in hopes of it growing bushier. After researching it said that 2 stems should grow from the point where I cut it, but Iâve noticed only 1 stem growing from each point. Did I mutilate my plant for no reason? What mightâve I done wrong? And does anyone have suggestions on promoting a bushier plant?
I planted a pumpkin seed in my backyard, and they have now developed into this thing. I am hopeful that the pumpkin(s) will mature in time for Halloween. Context: I am new to gardening and plants in general and have picked this hobby up since moving to Kentucky from Illinois. I have no idea what Iâm doing right or wrong. Just the fact that itâs huge!
Any advice on grow lights and good recommendations? Thanks :)
I went through my planta history today and just wanted to share how aesthetically pleasing the last few years have been hehe
Curious to see what everyone else shares đ What are plants in your collection that seem to be thriving even though it is notoriously known as a difficult plant or you know youâre not giving the best conditions to? Pictured from a week ago is my Calathea Fasciata. Iâve had it for almost 8 months now and got it on a whim at Home Depot knowing a thing at all about it. Have it about 6 feet from a slightly obstructed south window, miracle gro potting soil (with only perlite and drain hole for drainage) and a pot that might be touch large but it has been thriving! It continues to push leaves. Already on its 7 or 8th this season!
Hello, Got these two fiddle leafs today from a friend. Wanted to chop the top off and propagate since the stem is very bare on the bottom section. Any advice? Unsure of where to chop since theirs two stems coming off a single trunk. Also will chopping the top and cutting off the bare stem kill the small baby at the bottom? Never had a fiddle leaf so any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance!!
