Hi! I need help again. I got this Ficus Tineke on clearance today for under $10. Any tips to help it? Also it has these bugsâŠI assume I should remove all that soil, clean it up and repot?
My autumn flame has such a hard time during the winter (warm but rainy here) đ This is the second time I've had to cut her down to the soil. She lives outside, on a covered window ledge. It rained nonstop last week, and the strong winds that were going on must have blown a lot of rain past the overhang. By the weekend she had this funky fungus (?) going on. I think next year I'll bring her indoors for the season đ Hope to see her thriving again soon...
Good lord, I never knew begoniaâs were sooooo temperamental! Granted this is my first one and I got spoiled with amazing pothosâ but still lol. Like I was doing it a FAVOR by repotting it out of non breathable soggy soil into a better mix for its species and then it goes and yellows some leaves and gets all these crunchy spots. Even with its own PERSONAL humidifier right next to it, bathing it in rainforest mist. I mean if I treated myself like this plant, Iâd be a thriving queen. Okay, lol, rant over. But like did anyone ever have this temperamental of begonias while theyâre acclimating? Photo of what this princess looked like before it threw a fit, Iâm hoping to have a comeback story for this one to share later lol.
Does anyone know whatâs in this or know how it works? These are ice packs used to deliver my medicine, which must stay refrigerated. I get that nitrogen promotes leaf growth, so conceptually I get itâŠbut not really. Iâve used it on outside plants and it seemed to make no difference đ€·ââïž. Thoughts on inside plants??
How do you change a plants age on Planta?
I am repotting my plants on the south facing front porch. I live in SW FL My fiddle fig has roots coming out of the bottom of the pot. I got this or at Target and it has an attached tray for water, but I want to change it to one I can water till it runs out of the bottom and when finished put it back on the porch in a drip tray. Do I need to go up in diameter or height of the planter? TIA!
This is my sisterâs birds nest fern, and she sent me some photos and said âHELP!â She also said this one leaf was normal when it popped out, and she thinks something is eating it. I told her to get a magnifying glass and flashlight, but sheâs not seeing anything, at this point. Sheâs not a plant person, and really wants her birds nest fern to get better. I donât have any magic, but maybe some of you out there can tell her what is wrong with her plant? TIA!
What is wrong with my Croton? I havenât noticed these red spots before, and wondered if it might be edema? I was told that Crotons like to be well watered, but I have never watered it before, unless it showed normal on my moisture meter. TIA!
This should be the plant for year of the snake.

Hello everyone. Iâm new to plants so any recommendations anyone can give me iâd be happy to take! I bought this plant about a week ago and it was doing very well. I watered it once (the day it was bought) and i havenât again since iâve read they need a water about every 15 days⊠so iâve been worried to water again and overwater it. As iâm so new to being a plant mom iâm unsure of what the problem would be and iâd be interested to hear feedback from you. :)
Hey all learning question! I repotted my philo billie because I noticed that there were roots on top of the soil and the top roots were drying out before the bottom roots. So we repotted from 8â to 10â I just want someone to look at this root system and tell me if this looks okay? I have read root trot is brown and these are kind of brown but not mushy, some of them are fuzzy as well! Thanks all for educating me
So I walk in the exam room at the doctorâs office and I see this spider plant. I notice all the pups and rush over to it. I was going to ask my doc if I could have one or two. đ€ I got close and um, itâs a fake!! I laughed so hard at my own disappointment! Iâm not for fake plants but kudos to the creator for making it so legit that it has pups. đ€Ł
So, I just repotted these three. They were clippings in a porcelain pot that I believe was making it sick and only had one drainage hole. I do not over water her at all because I know these Swiss cheese ones donât want a bunch. How do I help her from here?? Sheâs in a 6in pot which idk if itâs the right size but it has long roots. Thanks in advance!
Waiting on the temperature to rise 30°F back to normal winter daytime levels to put some plants outside again. đ„¶
Help me please! This is my syngonium. I just got it a few weeks ago and it seemed to be doing fine. The other day it was due for watering and after watering it wilted. Yesterday it was perking up again but this morning I found it like this. What should I do?? Should I remove that main piece and can I put it in water to root? It looks like it just broke off.
Since it's the Year of the Snake according to the Chinese calendar, we have been discussing which plant looks the most like a snake, and we have three finalists: (A) Euphorbia caput-medusae (B) Sansevieria trifasciata (C) Kleinia stapeliiformis Which one is the most snake-looking, A, B or C?
Basic question .... in the plant app it asks you to put in size of plant. I assume this relates to reporting and water amount etc but it doesn't say HOW to measure them. Height? Width?
