Anyone have this type of planter? I repotted my plant into this larger pot before I realized this is a self watering planter. Itâs a pain to repot and I think I can tip out extra waterâŠbut I donât really know how it works. I canât detach the bottom reservoirâŠ

Any tips of helping with flowering, havenât seen any blooms lately
Iâm thinking about getting a peace lily. I hear they tend to be SOOO dramatic so weâll probably be besties. Anyway, Iâve heard of semi-hydro-ing them. How do you do that?? Take the plant out and put in water for the rest of forever? Any tips would be great!!
Can we talk about repotting? Iâm pretty sure this lovely needs to be repotted and Iâm just dreading it. Iâm thinking sheâs been in this pot about 5 years (?) and is thriving. But also water runs through it. It is a glazed ceramic pot and Iâm afraid itâs going to be really hard to do this and keep the pot intact. Any advice?
How do you measure plant size when entering details in Planta? Some plants can easily be measured by how tall it is, but take a pothos for example; mine arenât tall, but long and lanky.
Hii! I need some help with picking a good fertilizer for all my plants. I have a wide range of plants but mainly concerned about my Alocasias needing fertilizer. Iâve heard good things about worm castings? What do yall recommend? Thanks in advance!! :)
Hi guys! My mom received this plant from my aunt, I really love it but Iâm not sure what it is. It looks similar to an alocasia or caladium but Iâm not sure. Any thoughts on what this could be?
Ok soâŠ.idk why but this plant lately just is not pleaseing to look at, itâs a campfire plant and i got it about 4 mouths ago and now the peddles have just been slowly drooping. Fixable??
Hey everyone! Any idea how to get this little guy more bushy?? There are no more other stems because this was one of the first plants I got so I basically killed the poor thing before I got the hang of caring for plants any advice welcome! As well as what light requirements you have experienced to be good. thank you!!! Ps: Itâs a polka dot plant
Iâm so excited to start my Peace Lily journey! Picked up this little baby today, cleaned up her roots and set her up in some water instead, hereâs to hoping she acclimates wellđ
whatâs going onâŠ? itâs pushing out new leaves but looks sad at the same time. Can this be fixed?
Does anyone know why the end of my plants leaves are turning brown? Thanks!
I have a question about ceiling fans. When you set up a plant it asks about being near vents, etc. Iâve read about not putting by drafty doorways, etc, also. Also, Iâve read about plants having good air flow and cabinets having fans in them. Iâve left the ceiling fans off in the dining room (that has several plants) & the plants there seem to take longer to dry out. Iâve left one off in bathroom, thinking that would keep the humidity level higher. Should they remain off or on to increase air flow? I donât have trouble staying on top of the watering and it wouldnât be with increased frequency either, so that isnât a factor that needs to be considered. Iâm concerned over summer the house will be too muggy and hot for the human & dog inhabitants with fans off this summer (really needed them last summer). Thanks for any advice. Beth
Noticed one of my caladiums was leaning real hard late last night. I moved it to a more sunny spot, and turned her leaning away from the window. Sheâs already looking better and itâs only noon! I didnât realize she wanted the sun so bad đŹ any other caladiums tips/tricks you got for me with these guys?
Many people follow the Planta schedule but many of us realized a long time ago that it is impossible for any app to analyze every possible scenario or situation with every plant. Even with its adaptability. Probably about once a week I go thru all my plants just to make sure none are being left behind. I did that today and this is a pic of the plants that need to be watered early. They are not on Plantaâs schedule to be watered today. Keep in mind I have 162 plants in the app. So this is not a huge percentage. And about 85% of my hoard is succulents. Probably had I let these plants go and waited for the scheduled maintenance, they would probably be ok, but some plants wonât survive repeated neglect. My point is that you still need to check your plants occasionally to see if they need help.
My snake plant is flowering â€ïž
We continue the series and here is Idas favorite plant right now: Myrtle (Myrtus communis). It might be because itâs flowering atm but it sure is pretty otherwise as well! It prefers a bright spot, ideally in a sunny window, and thrives with regular watering and good air circulation. With its glossy leaves, delicate white flowers, and rich cultural heritage, itâs not only visually appealing but also has a rich history. This plant has long symbolized love and beauty. According to mythology, Aphrodite is said to have hidden behind a myrtle bush before rising from the sea (captured in the painting: Birth of Venus). In ancient times, brides to be would drink myrtle tea to prepare for pregnancy and then wear a wreath of Myrtle at the wedding as a symbol that the tea was no longer needed. Medicinally, myrtle has been used for: đż Antiseptic properties â to combat bacteria and infections đż Respiratory relief â particularly for bronchitis and cough đż Astringent effect â useful for wound care and skin issues đż Mild calming action â sometimes used to ease anxiety and sleep problems Both berries, leaves, and essential oil can be usedâbut as always, moderation is key. Essential oil should only be used externally and in small amounts. And if you'd like to try brewing a cup of Myrtle tea đ«: Ingredients: âą 1 tsp dried myrtle leaves âą 1 cup boiling water âą Honey or lemon (optional) Instructions: Place the dried myrtle leaves in a tea strainer. Pour over the boiling water and let steep for 5â10 minutes. Add honey or lemon if desired. Then simply enjoy it!

My sad and almost dead stromanthe that I put in fluval stratum on a whim is by far the happiest now a year later! Hereâs the before and after pics. Iâm so glad sheâs thriving! đ
