Hi! I was wondering if this was part sun, part shade or full sun? This is a southwest facing window; however I put these window film covers on. The app says full sun. Some of my plants that require part sun and part shade have been doing well in this location so far. Suggestions?

What’s happening to my Monstera??? It turned black overnight!! Received new furniture yesterday … did it freeze in this Canadian winter while the door was open for a few minutes?

Are there any Fittonia people here? I need some help 😅
My husband brought her home as a surprise for me on Monday night from Lowe’s. I know they say to wait to repot, but the soil was sopping wet at the time and had moldy growth-plus I never trust big box store soil - so I did repot her right away into an appropriately sized planter (with drainage) with a mix of 4 parts coco coir, 2 parts coco chips, 2 parts perlite, 1 part charcoal, and a small bit of worm castings. The roots looked healthy at the time and didn’t have any rot or fungal issues. The potting mix was already really moist from me having to soak the coco coir beforehand, so I did not water right then.
The next morning (Tuesday), she flopped hard and the soil felt just barely damp, so I thoroughly watered the soil with distilled water, but saw no improvement. I read that it might just be shock and would take a few days to improve, so, I set her about 1 foot away from my North facing window (technically NW but it never gets direct sun), next to a humidifier and on top of a pebble tray in a butterfly net cage (for quarantine purposes). The window is sealed off from any drafts and my Alocasia has been really happy there, so I thought it’d be a good spot. Now it’s Thursday morning and she looks just as sad as she did on Tuesday.
The butterfly net cage basically acts as a sheer curtain, so I thought that would also help prevent any exposure to direct sun that everyone says to avoid. The soil is still evenly moist. No signs of pests that I can tell; the quarantine cage is precautionary and the brown specks are just leftover coco coir that I need to brush off.
I do see one crispy looking yellow-colored leaf, and a couple others with edges or tips that are crisping up. Some of the other leaves feel really limp/soft to the touch whereas others seem to be firming up again but some are also curling a little. My hygrometer reads the humidity at 79% and the temperature at 66°F.
Where did I go wrong here? 😅 Did I overwater? Is this just a matter of waiting a while longer or do I change something? I consider myself a pretty experienced plant person at this point, but historically I have bad about nurturing plants to death when they have transplant shock. Thanks in advance!

Help! None of my plants are sprouting from seeds. It’s been forever (months) and my spearmint, chamomile, and sage are still not sprouting. Any tips?

If I have an LED lamp on my desk above keyboard, and have succulents near the keyboard also under the LED lamp, does that count as "grow light"? It's within 6 inches of the lamp? And I have it for long hrs. ...though I don't see any difference on the succulents... could they be dead? 🤷♀️ 🤔

So, I’ve been into plants for awhile, and recently I was looking for a simple, fun, and cost effective way to poke drainage holes in plastic pots. Last night I had the idea for a handmade tool that fits the purpose, and luckily I was able to bring it to life because my dad is a blacksmith. Heres the prototype, all you do is heat up the pointy end and poke it in! Let me know any thoughts or questions, and if it’d be a worthwhile tool to sell!

What is at the top of your plant wishlist? Mine is forever changing. I've wanted an Alocasia Venom for a while. But then there's the Purple Longiloba. My recent obsession is the Variegated Orange Melano.

I’m just over here, listening to sleep frequencies, feeding some of my little and learning that’s it’s quite meditative to untangle my tears 🪴

Hi, my partner just bought me a cyclamen and I am having trouble finding information about how to care for it indoors? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Like when to repot (assuming to be done after blooming) I read something about a “corm” in the roots and removing it 🤷🏼♀️ and generally what to do so I can see it bloom again next year.
I am in southern Ontario Canada, if that helps.
TIA

Hello! I am kind of new to the plant world and I have slowly started obtaining more plants for my small room. I have had all of the plants for about half a year or longer now and out of my 11 plants originally 3 of them have already died (sadly). I am trying to learn more about how to take care of my plants due to mental health problems I think it will benefit me. If anyone has any recommendations of something I can do to help any of my plants or plant recommendations PLEASE let me know! I am open to a lot of criticism as if I am honest I have no idea what I am doing with plants....

Need plant recommendations!! I just bought this gorgeous pot and am not sure what to put in it. I want something that looks like hair/snakes, I love this one I found on pinterest but I don't think it will work for my space. I live in a pretty small & dark studio apartment, and the pot is so big it really only fits on this shelf, which is far from windows so I have grow lights on it. Does anyone have recommendations for plants that have a similar look that don't need bright light???

I'm soooo happy! I just potted one of my beautiful new Christmas presents Freya in her new home! And for a fairly new home gardener, I think she looks GORGEOUS! I used a mix of Miracle Grow, Bromeliad & a touch of perlite. What do y'all think? She's in my sunny kitchen nook, hanging with 2 girlfriends. 🥰❤️🪷

Hello, I need help with my Bamboo Sticks
I got these three bamboo sticks after a plant show but on my way home the stems broke off of all three of the sticks. I want to properly take care of them without hurting them further.
Any tips on what I should do next? I really want to take them out of the propagation cups.
