Hi all, I am very new to plants; I did my first watering on Thursday last week, added some new soil where recommended.
I donât add any to my cat palm (mistake) and sheâs sick, but also completely dry?
My monstera (here) said itâs bordering dry/moist and Iâm not sure if I waterâd correctly. I just placed the plants in my kitchen sink, pressure on low with the âspray featureâ so it was like rain. I was worried about over watering but itâs just been a few days and theyâre nearly dry.
Advice on watering of what to do now?

Question about thrips.. how long after treatment and isolation do you move them back into their community? My original treatment included new soil and I added systematic pest control. I hate these little suckersđŠ
I received a Elephant Ear đȘŽplant from my brothers high school class. He passed away in March. It has see through dots on the leaves. I see no pests or bugs. Could someone help me diagnose. The app isnât helping. đ
Thank you! đđŸ

Silly question, but Iâm trying to propagate my snake plant for a friend, but what happens to the bottom part of the original snake plant that was cut? Will it rot if I donât remove it or can I leave it as is? Thanks!

Hi! Iâm new here. I havenât ever really been great with plants, but I love them all the same. Question for yâall. My covered balcony is mostly shaded with a few sun spots in the day (faces north in Southern California.) Iâve got a few grow lights out there to assist my đ± friends, however, I donât know how to indicate that in Planta. On its own my balcony appears to be unwelcoming to plants that need sun, but I know with the lights most of them are getting more light. How have you differentiated that in the app so that it knows that I have more light? Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, just having a small issue with my spider plants.. they seem healthy and are growing new little leaves that get longer each day, but for the past week Iâve noticed the end of some of the leaves going yellow, brown and crispy on both plants, what could be causing this? They seem healthy otherwise, just worried for the endsđą

Last October I cut my Swiss cheese apart and trimmed her up real good! Had hundreds of nodes ⊠I threw it in sphagnum moss, in five different containers⊠ziplocks and rotisserie containers. đ I left it and forgot itâŠ. Havenât opened it since⊠this bag I was giving to a friend. Thinking about selling in little bunches in a 2â pots for a couple bucks.

Iâd like to hear how you let your indoor house plants get some sunshine in spring-summer-fall.
Iâm in hardiness zone 8, and many of my philodendrons and pothos are supposedly ok outside in May-September. But Iâve never tried it.
I have over 200 houseplants and wonât move all outside. Maybe half? MaybeâŠ
So do you just pick a day and move plants outside?
Do you move some outside for daytime at first, bringing them in at night, just like hardening off young garden starts?
And do you âlayerâ them so ones at the top shade ones below? Or just place them near your house for shade?
I donât want to experiment with a bunch and lose them all, or cripple them.
