I am about to repot my lovely asparagus fern and take it out of its pot to find its roots like this. I was shocked! Does this look alright? I’ve shared a photo of the pot it’s going into (larger)

I know they say houseplants don’t hate you, you’re just not meeting their standards. But I ordered a 4 pack of Calatheas once and one died almost immediately. I’m convinced it saw its new surroundings said “absolutely not” and checked out.
My props have been rewarding me with babies 😁
How long do string of hearts flower for? Mine has been flowering for 2+ months now.
I received this beautiful basket with about 6 or 7 different types of plants in it. I want to keep them all alive and thriving, and I'm guessing I'm going to have to repot them at some point into different pots. Seems like a daunting task to me, since I've never had anything like this before. Any tips on how to care for this lovely display and keep them all healthy?
Snake plant update! I posted a couple days ago about my snake plant and possible under watering. I got some good advice back and just wanted to update! Soooo, I couldn’t help myself and needed to look at the roots to quell any fears. And to my surprise the roots had grown so much from when I first got it (it was a dry root prop). I added a little less chunky of soil to the pot (since it was a litttlleee too chunky considering it was also in a terracotta pot. And also, my snake plant is having a baby! Definitely made my planty day 🤭🥹 Also, just for anyone else out there, it never hurts to check the roots; sometimes you’ll find out what the problem is or be happily surprised that your plant is totally okay.
Just read this from the state extension site: aeschynanthus radicans — the name comes from the greek work auschune, meaning shame; anthos, meaning flower; radicans, meaning having rotting stems… shame flower with rotting stems?! how miserable for such funny, happy little flowers 😂🤓
Hello all! What is happening here? I know it's a new growth, but what's the best way to handle it? I have to repot her today, so maybe a bigger pot would help?
Hi. Just came back from holiday to this. Any advice on how to treat this plant. It’s in a conservatory. I’ve watered it but don’t know if I should remove the dead leaves or just leave it to shed. Will new leaves grow?
I have a question for anyone who can answer… I’ve heard that thrips can develop a resistance to Imidacloprid, which is the active ingredient in Bonide systemic granules. Does anyone know if this is actually true? And if it is, does anyone have recommendations for a different type of soil treatment that I can rotate with the granules?
Hello, I need advice on how to handle my plants as they were left outside while I was out and it downed poured and the got drenched in water . What can I do ? Thank you in advance 😊
I just go this plant and it’s Soo pretty ✨ Any advice for care??
I want to get starts from my rose bush. I will give you pics. As a symbol of remembrance for my daughter and 3 grandbabies. I saw where someone put a sprinkle of their loved one’s ashes in a pot and then grew the plant. I don’t know I will go that far but I still need to get starts even if I just give it away. I sent you all a picture of it with well it’s when I checked on her this month she had Lacey leaves. I cut them off like it said to do. Well I did a test run. Let’s make sure it’s not a bogus “hey dummy you didn’t cut it right!” The last pic and I will leave you to it. In advance thank you for your help. I will post on Facebook also.
I made a post about this a few days ago, but I’m still struggling with my string of pearls. It just seems to keep shriveling more and more every day. Is there any way I can save this? Should I try to cut and propagate any healthy parts before it’s too late?
i got this at a free plant exchange and it was unlabeled. i’ve tried to figure out what kind of plant it is by google lens and comparing it to other types of plants. i currently have it marked as a giant elephant ear (alocasia wentii). i was wondering if someone could verify or figure out what type it actually is. i currently have an orchid that i’ve had for at least less than 3 weeks so im new too all of this. id like to have a collection but of course, i have to start small. any tips or suggestions would be very much appreciated!
Recently re-potted my rubber plant (had had to chop and prop) and now its back in soil it seems to be thriving! I am concerned about this teeny leaf… do the leaves continue to grow once they’ve unfurled? I’ve never had one before this one and it nearly died earlier this year so want to know it’s doing ok haha. Thank you 🙂
Hi All, I am considering adding a long plant shelf above this door and windows. But wondering if it’ll be enough light? My current plant shelving is about 20 feet away from this door and those plants are doing well. You can also see in this photo that there’s an air vent in the ceiling that can be redirected as to not blow on the shelf if I put one up. This photo is taken at 2:45pm so it shows the afternoon lighting situation. Thanks for any opinions!
Just love plants with changing colors🖤🍃
i got a new toothpick cactus today named ophelia (o-feel-e-a) because when i was cactus hunting she poked me like she wanted to be taken home so welcome to the family girlfriend!
