To moss pole or not to moss pole? I have some for my monstera but I lost the pins. Do you guys water the actual moss pole? And what moss poles are good?

I'd say Definitely yes for a monestera, especially if you want larger growth. I use both cocofiber poles and moss depending on species. The cocofiber i mist, the moss, i water the moss. I just got new moss poles from 'The moss pole' I haven't set them up though. If you mmean pins to pin the plant in, the moss pole ssells them, as well as other folks online
0 gillningarIf we’re talking Deliciosa I will always rec sphagnum moss. MD really wants to sink roots and this is the best bet for them to grow really huge. A word of caution though — fungus gnats looove to breed in the moss. Preventatively you can water your moss pole with mosquito bits/dunks to keep them under control
0 gillningarWhat about for others, I have like 12 pothos and two philodendrons that I’ve never tried to give support before so I’m curious
0 gillningarwhat types of philo? pothos will attach to anything even slightly porous, including your walls lol — sphag or coco coir will work
0 gillningarI was watching the Sheffield plant guy on YouTube, if you’re going to train your pothos to grow vertically, he suggests trimming the hanging vines first (& propagate them for a fuller pot, or another plant) and then put the pole in, teaching the new vines to attach to the pole. I have a pothos starting on a moss pole, but I’m thinking about a wood trellis or a cedar plank from the building store for my Jade pothos. If I could afford it, I’d get a wood trellis from Treleaf on Zella. But being from Canada with the USD to CAD xchange, I can’t justify the cost 😞
1 gillaI have a silver sword an Micans
