Does anyone have any idea on how to keep Dahlias alive inside? I had this outside for the summer but had to bring it in. If not, does anyone know how I can put it away and have it come up next year? I absolutely love it and would like to keep it as long as I can.

Keeping the tubers for next year is straightforward, but requires a difficult moment: after the first light frost, when the above-ground part has died, cut it away. Overwinter the entire pot somewhere that will stay cool not not freeze too hard (garage, basement, cellar). Or, dig up the tubers, separate them, wrap them in plastic wrap, and put them in a paper bag in the refrigerator. Then, plant next spring.

It was hard for me to watch my beautiful dahlia freeze, but the tubers kept well and I even gave a couple dahlias from them as gifts the following year.

Thank you. I'll do that once it starts looking bad. I've already brought it in.
