My new kitten Nancy is so playful and when she notices the leaves of corn plant move she wants to eat them! Iāve been tryna figure out how to stop her because theyāll make her sick if she ingests them. Google says to try diluted white vinegar but Iām worried itāll damage the leaves. Iāve already put black pepper over the soil of all my plants and that works but I donāt really want to have pepper all over the leaves too ahah. Anyone have any suggestions? š«
diluted vinegar wonāt hurt it!! we use it to clean the plants at the plant shop i work at!!:)

0 gillningar my suggestion is to spend some extra time playing with her with specific toys she likes so she will know thatās what sheās supposed to play with instead, i think thatās how i got my kitten to not be interested in my plants.
4 gillningar Yeah she loves her toys and I play with her a lot but sheās only 9 weeks old and wants to play pretty much ALL the time š so whilst Iām cooking dinner or using the bathroom sheās always tryna find something that moves to play with and the plants move in a way she loves š. Iāve put foil on the windowsills where she would get up to eat the plant and thatās stopped her for now. But Iāve got her interested in her toy ball now and that seems to be doing the trick but time will tell

Your new kitten is so cute š„° and vinegar is perfectly fine š I use it a bit when I water my plants to stop fungus gnats and is an excellent leaf shine š¤ I really canāt get over your kitty

Two words: cat grass. Give her a plant sheās allowed to eat and put it elsewhere. If she tries to eat the dracaena, gently move her over to the cat grass. But honestly, itās hard to guarantee she wonāt eat them in a naughty moment. I would consider keeping that plant in a room she canāt access.
1 gilla Yeah I put some foil on the windowsills where she can climb up to play with the dracaena and it seems to be doing the trick for now till i deem that sheās lost interest in it for certain. I live in a studio apartment so thereās no other room it could go in š. Iāll get rid of it if she keeps trying but the foil and her toys seem to be doing the trick for now
