What is the best way to cater to plants that are not getting enough light. I know growing lights are an option, but I really don’t wanna a bunch of grow lights just to have some greenery indoors. Do plants always need to be right next to a window?

It depends how the light enters and reflects into the window and into your space. I use these as a reference to those needing help. A snake plant couldn’t handle direct, though it “could” survive in low light it won’t thrive there. So anywhere in a bright/medium light is beneficial. Make sure to acclimate it if it’s in a shady spot moving to a brighter spot, do it gradually. Come winter time when the days are shorter it would be beneficial to use a grow light or move it closer to a brighter spot

If you google direct/indirect light map you’ll see a few variations of east facing and west facing windows! Very helpful for anyone thinking you need sunlight in a room all day

I felt similarly about grow lights at first but I've come to think of them like artwork lighting with benefits. The Sansi "Pot clip" lights are low profile & cheap ($17 for one, cheaper if you buy multiples) and you can easily move them from plant to plant. Also have a timer. Here's one clipped on to a mounted planter.

It’s a toss up of want you want. And I’ve said this before. Do you want a mediocre ok looking plant or do you want a plant being its best looking self? And those Sansi clip ons. I have about a dozen. They look good and they show off your plant, but I have a caveat too. Get the 10 watts not the 5. A little more money but much better in a dark area. I gave away all my 5 watts so I did compare them personally.

I hear ya. I have all manner of lights including the T5s installed over shelving & the lamp style. We'll see if that Sansi is enough for those Pothos. I may alternate with putting a T10 2 foot light on them a few days a week.

Your set up looks very professional. That would blend in to any decor.

I look at yours and wish my plants were set up so well but I have far too many. I’m trying to get the number down but there are still plants I would like to have.
