Looks like an Alocasia Jacklyn. They like an airy chunky well draining soil to allow their roots to breath but they donât like to dry out. Personally I struggled with mine in well draining soil so I loved her to semi hydro using lecca balls and since then sheâs doubled in size and is thriving. Alocasias are a bit touchy but Iâve seemed to have cracked the code since moving to semi hydro. Iâll include pictures of when I got mine and now.
1 gillaooo dif note do u prefer leca? bc i have mine in like a mix w lots of perlite and bark and it seems to be ok but i have a few discolored leaves that need their color back and i was wondering if i should switch my alocasia to leca
0 gillningarI do, these past weeks Iâve been transitioning all my plants to lecca, my African violets are loving it in particular. And watering is now a breeze, no guesswork or anything just empty reservoir tell me to top it up. The only plants I wonât be moving is my orchids because their roots tell me when to water. And the fact that it limits bugs and I can sterilise the lecca and reuse it will save my money down the line. So all I see is a win win really âșïž.
0 gillningarbut basically alocasia need moist soil but dont overwater and depending on the type the light/humidity will vary its kind if experimenting i had to do that with 2 of my alocasias (a bit burnt but thriving) so yknow

I unalived 3 Jacklynâs before I transferred ALL my alocasia to pon and self watering pots. Iâve got 4(?) alocasia and they are thriving.
