Hi everyone šŸ‘‹ About many a week ago, my baby brother got annoyed of me and took out his anger out on my plants, and he I think pulled the stem and the leaves came off. Now all that’s left of my Chinese Evergreen or Aglaonema Beauty is one leaf, do you guys know if it’ll be okay or not? And do you know if it’ll recover? Please and thank you ā˜ŗļø

Is there a node? (Bump on the stem). If so that would be great bc stem cuttings are one way to propagate Chinese evergreens. If not, it may still work. Good luck šŸ¤žšŸŒ±

Not really, it’s mostly looking like brownish, and feeling a a little squishy

This picture doesn’t look too good. But I’ve kept some pots around that looked like they were just full of dirt and ended up being surprised when something popped up. I hope this ends up happening for you

My cat got mine and same thing happened…one leaf. But the roots were still good. This plant now has five big leaves. I bet if the roots are good, your plant may do the very same! If this does get a new leaf, post a new picture! Good luck.🪓

is there stem under the soil? cut off the mushy bits and pull up the stem until you have a node or two above the soil. remove roots if necessary. definitely recoverable

I’ve had a Chinese evergreen for at least 10 years from which I’ve propagated and now have 5. But also had some issues with prior pot that I eventually had to repot and get rid of rot and separated into 3 small pots ( which is why I now have 5). But while it took a while, this one stem is showing some signs that it will eventually produce leaves. But there is another smaller pot where the stem seemed to show signs of rot so I cut a little more off and now I’m just waiting šŸ¤ž
