NEED ASAP HELP, PLEASE! My Pink Princess Philodendron is already de-potted so I need some help and fast! I just bought her at Albertsons (only $19.99 and HUGE!!) and was trying to mount her on a moss pole because she was wobbly as heck. After investigation I noticed she seemed to be two different plants and they weren’t spaced in a way that could both wrap on the same pole. So, I de-planted her and carefully separated the roots but found the plants were still connected by a thick stem/root. Can this be cut or will it kill her/them? Please let me know! Pics below. UPDATE: I think I killed the two. They are looking sad and wilty, but I will keep loving on them until I’m positive. 😩

They both have equally healthy root systems. What do you think? And would I just cut right in the middle of that stem? I plan on planting them in separate pots with the same soil. Is that okay?

i’d add some orchid bark, coco coir, granite, perlite and/or pretty much anything to help with aeration

Okay, right. I DO have my own homemade Aroid mix, as shown in this pic. My initial thoughts were to keep it in the soil it was already used to so as to not shock the 2 newly separated plants even more. But, I am aware Philos like Aroid mixes. Would you suggest I mix the original soil and my Aroid mix 50/50%?

So far.. well I thought it was going well, until I just took these pictures. They both look quite sad and wilty. Please cross your fingers that they are both just a bit depressed because they miss each other and will perk back up once they settle into their new homes.
