    My husband just bought me one, or for himself, and I know nothing about them! Only know what the box says, don't use tap water and, don't fertilize?

      The reason is tap water and fertilizer is almost insta death for carnivores plants, due to the high mineral content, because in their natural habitat the soil they grow in has next to zero minerals in it. FYI bugs are their fertilizer and require low ppm water in the range of 1-50ppm but is better to be close to the middle. So buy jugs of distilled water, RO(reverse osmosis) water or collect rain water to water it. Also I am pretty sure he got the VFT for himself.
