Curious if anyone knows how, or has had experience, selling your mature healthy plants to a local nursery? I am really getting into the hobby and can imagine getting overcrowded with plants!

I haven't but maybe u could give some plants away or sell them when u start to get overcrowded
2 gillningarI feel you!!
1 gillaI doubt a nursery would take them. They would be concerned about pests. I give them away. I have sold a few on Facebook Marketplace. I have a philodendron choco empress that Iām hoping to sell on marketplace. Itās in a very nice pot with a Treleaf Trellis. I was thinking about $150. But still undecided.
2 gillningarI'd also recommend Facebook Marketplace! But obviously you'd want to offer a competitive price... People are more comfortable going to the store than meeting with a random person so the price would have to be worth it š
1 gillaThatās why Iām debating about mine. Iām thinking Iāll just repot into plastic and get rid of the trellis. But locally some people are selling very small plants for well over $100. And my favorite plant store sells plants in 3 inch pots for up to $300. I think itās crazy. But Facebook is a good place to start.
2 gillningarMy only problem is that I ādivorcedā social media a few years ago. There is an app called offer up (kind of an online garage sale thing)ā¦maybe there? Or a local coffee shop that displays and sells art people locally have doneā¦
0 gillningarUnderstand completely. Facebook is a land of harmful information. But probably your best place to start. The ads on there blow my mind. How can people believe this crap. I use it mostly for our neighborhood page. And local happenings. And some selling.
1 gillaIn my area there is always a bunch of farmers markets or little vendor fairs going on, those are great to sell at! Iāve had really good luck at farmers markets.
1 gillaThat would be what I have to look for, something local like that! There are sooooo many rules and red tape to shipping plants here from Florida!
0 gillningarTo be clear I am in Florida, and they have many rules about that sort of thing.
