We have shoots and droops. Obviously the plant is growing, and is doing wonderfully under a grow light. Question- is the pot size wrong? Or is it just not planted deep enough? I trimmed off the top a few months ago because the plant kept falling over, now we have three pups doing great coming out of the cut. Recently, the bottom petals are just dropping off and once again becoming top heavy.

The pot size is good. It looks like you either didn't plant it deep enough or you don't turn it halfway every time you water so it makes it lopsided..

You can also put a chopstick next to it to hold it up.

The pot looks quite large width-wise, unless it has a very expansive root system that takes up the width of that pot. I’d opt for something no more than 1-2 inches wider in diameter than the width of the plant’s root ball. I recently had to repot a friend’s aloe that was going through a similar situation, and repotted it into a smaller, but somewhat taller pot (this might sound a little silly, but I have two pots that are shaped like red solo cups. They have drainage holes like any other nursery pot, but they’re taller than the average pot for plants that have lots of roots, but need to be more snug in their pots). The yellowing of the bottom leaves is making me think the excess soil it’s sitting in from the large pot is making it take longer for the soil to dry out between waterings, and possibly distressing the roots. The other consideration is soil. It needs a well-draining cactus and succulent mix. Avoid any Miracle Grow brand soil for this, even their cactus mix, as it is not well-draining enough for this plant and could quickly lead to overwatering and rot. If it’s currently in a Miracle Grow brand soil, please repot it immediately and check for any signs of rot or distress on the root. I swear by Espoma’s Organic Cactus and Succulent Mix, but if you can’t find it, using any other cactus mix and adding some extra perlite and orchid bark should do the trick 👍 I’d recommend repotting it into a smaller pot. One with drainage holes, and either terra cotta or plastic. It might be a little top-heavy at first after the downsized repot, but if you have any barbecue/bamboo skewers, you can stick it to the side of it during the repot to brace against it until the roots settle in a few weeks and it can stand up properly. Hope this helps 😊
