Sorry if this is long or doesnāt make sense. Iām desperate to save my new plants. Iām really new to gardening and to be honest I am really bad at it but I really really want to be good at it. I did a lot of (apparently bad) research and recently purchased a white bird of paradise, blue plumbago and 2 lantanaā¦. I live in AZ and all of them said they need full sun. I repotted them too soon apparently, by repotting right away. I have them in really large terra cotta pots outside. Originally had them all on dirt and mulch, direct sun for 6+ hours. They quickly got sunburn, flowers dropping off, so I got a 40% shade cloth and got that set up over them. I was also only watering if the soil was dry 2-3 inches down, so not overwatering. They are all raised on planter feet. They were still struggling with sunburn and crispy leaves, so I was told to move them all to covered patio with direct light. I did that, and they looked better for 1 day, but then this morning I see spider mites on the lantana⦠I get the need oil today, but then find out that with AZ temp about 90⢠(itās July, of course it is) the heat will scorch the leaves even without sun if I put been oil on it. All of this is going on, and at the same time I notice my bird has leaves dropping and not becoming more erect. Thereās a new shoot, but the other leaves not doing great has me worried. I repotted them all 6/24 if that helps. Also the soil stays moist way longer than I expected it would but Iām being told thatās normal. Iāve been following Planta advice now for a few days and it doesnāt look like theyāre improving. Any suggestions or tips on helping these guys live? Photos of when I first got them to current for plumbago and bird.
