Hi friends! My dieffenbachia baby has been looking very sad recently and I’m unsure what she wants. I’ve had her for a couple of months, and she has seemed quite happy getting very bright but indirect sunlight near my south facing window. About a week and a half ago she started to get very wilty/droopy. I mist her regularly and follow Planta’s suggested watering schedule. I don’t think I’m under or overwatering her and nothing has changed. Is she being dramatic or does she need something? She’s still in her grow pot, so perhaps her potting mix isn’t so great? She doesn’t seem root bound. Based on what I’ve read, I moved her away from the window the other day as maybe she’s getting too much sun now that we’re coming out of winter? You can see the difference in her profile pic vs the pic below. Any suggestions or advice are very welcome. Thanks!

Sounds like she should go back her window spot? She’s still in her nursery pot, the white pot is a cover

I think your lighting was fine. They can react to temp changes, maybe the window spot is cold or the temp fluctuating? When you water are you leaving it in the cache pot? If there's a pool of water in the base, it maybe staying wet too long.

If its been in the nursery pot for awhile, you may want to unpot just to check the roots for rot.

I second this advice. I don't think light is the issue.i think it is water related.

The weather here in Portland has been a bit wonky - we got snow 3 weeks ago and for the past week it’s been almost 70 degrees. I make sure to let all the water drain freely outside of the cover pot when watering, so she’s definitely not sitting in a pool of water. I figured I’ll unpot this week to check her roots!

It’s killing me, but I’m enjoying fake spring right now. Fingers crossed she just needs a refresh. I’ll get her back to her window spot after work today ā˜€ļø

I’d check her roots. She looks overwatered to me

Found the problem - she was being choked by the net of death. 🫠
