Iām generally new to being a plant parent, since shortly before Motherās Day this year. This means most of my plants are new, especially my bigger ones. Iāve noticed that almost every plant I have has been producing shorter stems/petioles/stalks/etc than what theyāve had pre grown when I bought them. My Thai constellation just finished putting out a new leaf that has about 7ā less length of petiole, a deliciosa with a new leaf thatās about 4ā less length of petiole. My new regal shield is still developing its leaf but based of how far the leaf has opened vs the length of its stem, itās going to be sitting directly in front of and completely blocking the previous newest leaf. Iām sure this is all just due to having adequate lighting in my plant set up? Less reaching for the light? Also do monstera (and other aroids) leaves continue to grow after fully opening and hardening? If not then my Thai constellation is putting out a shorter and smaller leaf but with way more fenestrations.
