Got my first elephant ear , it was given to me in sand but would like to change it to soil but don’t want to put it in shock . Any recommendations?

WendssThe sand has no nutrients, it’d be best to repot, OR you can let it grow in water

Would it send it into shock changing it so quick or should I do it slowly ?

I usually transfer all my plants as soon as I get the so I can see if the roots have any problems
