Hello, help please! I’ve been pulling more browning leaves off my pilea than I normally would, this one looks like it’s something more than cranky leaves. Does someone know if this is a particular affliction? Can my plant come back from it? Thank you💚

Your watering schedule needs to be consistent and adapted to the individual needs of each plant. If you subject your plant to overwatering followed by under watering, that puts too much stress on it. This is a surefire way to get brown leaves.

What is your watering and sunlight like? How about your humidity?

She’s under a grow light, definitely never overwatered (I guess once I noticed the browning I watered less?). It’s happened to two other plants that are right next to it, so it seemed like something infectious. I’m trying to keep the three as far from other plants as possible, kind of tricky in a low light apartment. Humidity is pretty mid, my apartment isn’t dry, but she’s never particularly seemed happier when near a humidifier.

How do you check to see if it needs water? This is how a typical overwatered pilea looks.

I use a chopstick or my hands, it’s a small pot so I can generally tell what the soil is like. Sounds like that’s the issue though, thank you!
