Hello to all my plant friends… this is from my sister again, who has a beautiful garden, and can grown just about anything. However, every once in a while she sends me a question to ask my friends here on this platform because between the two of us we just don’t know… If so, can you look up the lemon trees and let me know if i need to move inside or can i plant them? I have 3 and they each about 18 to 22 inches in pots. They have been getting 6 hours sun then shade. But they are too big for the pots their in and im not sure what to do. Can they survive fall, winter outside or should i repot and bring them in??? Thanks for checking. If anyone has suggestions, I’ll send them back to her!

    I would recommend she download chatgpt or gemini and she can ask these questions and get an immediate answer, best of luck

      ChatGPT almost killed my aloe plants with a suggestion it made. I wouldn’t recommend this. Ai will hallucinate an answer if it doesn’t know.

      You are not giving it enough context then, it’s a wonderful tool if you know how to use it and can even ask that it uses sourced information.

      No it had more than enough context. I have a whole plant support agent that I created. It just didn’t tell me how to transition my aloe outdoors and that full sun exposure would not be good for aloe that were used to indoors. It admitted it to me afterwards that it was too optimistically confident in its suggestions.

    It depends on her usda hardiness zone. If she’s not in an area that citrus grows well in like Florida or California, she may need to put it in a greenhouse or rollers to roll in during the winter.

    I live in a desert area and our lime tree grew nicely, that being said, it did require us to cover it up every winter really well. It is sensitive to winter for sure so if she lives in a place that has harsh winters I’d recommend looking for the proper measures to take care of it.
