Hi guys, My mum picked this up today for free from Facebook and wondering what we should be doing, it needs repotting desperately with a a more chunkier soil, but the limp leaves I’m not sure what to do whether those leaves are saveable? What’s the best option for it?

Is she dehydrated or have root rot?

If anything close to root rot, very moist soil, but we don’t have any potting mix right now so just hoping to dry out over the next couple of days

Yeah makes sense let her dry out and then maybe when you get more potting soil take her out and inspect roots to see if there is any damage

That’s the plan, just hoping it comes back to life a bit more

    I’m betting root rot.

Order yourself some Mollys Aroid mix, repot but cut off all rotted black roots when you do it. Don’t water for a couple days.

I guess it really depends on how the roots are looking. As you said, that’s likely the case. If the roots are okay and you can salvage some of them, great. If not, I’d soil propagate. Either way, I recommend dipping it in rooting hormone to make sure she recovers well! I almost lost a Hoya to root rot a few months ago and someone suggested to try rooting hormone and it literally saved my Hoya without a single leaf loss, mind you, he was on death's door😭!

She really looks dehydrated more than root rot. The stems look clean down to the base without spots. Most leaves look healthy except for the drooping and the one outlier. Cut off the yellow leaf. It could be dying from old age. I’m assuming you watered it or the seller watered it recently. So, it could take a few days to start perking up. Fertilize. Plus, it has to adjust to a new environment which can make it look limp as it adjusts to new lighting and other conditions.
