Amie206All plants have different needs. Some like to be tight in their pots, others do not. It also depends on if you’re wanting a bigger plant or if you’re happy with the size it’s at. So, first research your specific plants and figure out the plants individual needs. THEN check root systems (gently pull out of current pot or look to see if roots are growing out drainage holes) and see if you need to size the pot up. Only go up 1-2”. If you have a plant that you like its size, and it’s root bound, pull it out of the pot and just trim some of the roots off. Once you decide what needs repotting be sure you know what type of soil your plant likes. Some like a chunky airy mix, while others like soil that holds on to a little bit of moisture. Google is your friend. Take it a day at a time. You don’t have to do it all at once. Last year I was so OVERWHELMED with repotting plants!!!! This year I’ve tried (sometimes failed) to not buy more, but to focus on making sure the 50ish plants I have are healthy.
